Due to life constraints with the taco. Sold it and bought a 05 Chevy 2500 HD.

Not a bad truck, has a new / reman Allison transmission, new drive shaft, new transfer case, heads studded, deleted engine stuff, intake and exhaust. Plus it has a Tahoe interior. Frame was okay… better than others I saw when I was looking-

I have a farm and needed a larger truck for my family and the duties on the farm. My wife told me not to buy this truck… but F it. I had the cash and was ignorant. Boy ignorance is bliss. She said, this truck would nickel and dime you… and so far, it has! What an adventure. Let’s start uploading.

Truck was an auction truck. Paid cash and got it free and clear.

Red Rover / Eloisa / Big Red getting its first inspection after the dealer dude bought the truck.

Whoever this inspector is, needs to go back to inspection school. Or not be a shade tree mechanic…

Picking it up. Just looking it over I knew there was going to be some work done…

    Goats seem to like it.

but the goats don’t drive it.
Problem number 1. Rear lights work intermittently, and reverse lights are out all together.
Number 2. Dash lights on ac module and other modules didn’t work. So… time to get into the dash
    70337472683__11E37BDC-A320-47B7-BA86-58AC52E0D0AA.jpg

Figured out that rear trailer hitch wiring was all jacked up and messing with the reverse lights through the rear wiring signal box thinger

Well. With more room in the truck. It was decided our sxs was not large enough either for all the farm chores. So bought a new Polaris 1000 six seater

same night was our St. Louis stocker no locker wheeling even. Did not bring the new sxs because I know better and shenanigans would be happening… boy was I right.
Also. Huge shout to Ethan who tinted my front windows at moonlight offroad park

oh yeah. Along the way new head lights. And overhead cab lights. Rear lights. Old ones were fogged, didn’t work, or were blacked out (I hate that look)

    Again, much more different pull

joyyyy coolant leaking from the weep hole on the water pump.
Nothing like having to take off the whole front of the engine to replace it. Including the harmonic balancer.

    And the most recent fun.
    Got real lucky here…
Pulled a load of trailers for a buddy.
    upload_2023-9-14_21-39-48.jpg
    upload_2023-9-14_21-40-48.jpg
got there and noticed that my hitch wasn’t so straight anymore… ummmm
    upload_2023-9-14_21-41-44.jpg
    Dang lucky

then no so lucky. Got a hitch from a buddy and, of course, the mounting bolts are different. Should have caught that..
    upload_2023-9-14_21-43-35.jpg
I guess it’s time to buy a new hitch.
