I have come into possession of an 04 double cab with a 3.4 automatic with 137k miles.

The truck has been amazing so far except it has suddenly started making a noise and a very rough idle only when it gets warm. On first startup it will run perfect until the temp gauge starts to register. Once you give it a little gas the click goes away until it gets down below 1000 rpm.

I have checked all sparkplugs to make sure there are no problems with them.

I went and bought a mechanics stethoscope and found that the noise seemed to be coming from the throttle position sensor on the side of the throttle body.

Im really looking to see if anyone has any ideas on where I should start.

Here’s a link to the noise
