    How do you tell if you have a prerunner? Just got my 03 Taco this past Sept. Looking at parts some sites state base/ prerunner how can I tell? Thanks

    If it has 6 lug nuts on each wheel it’s a pretender. If it’s a 5 lugger, it’s a mini truck

    Yup it`s got the 6 lugs and 4x4 so thats what makes it a not pretender.

    1999 Tacoma SR5 4WD 3RZ AT Sunfire Red Pearl
    A 4wd is a 4wd. Prerunners have 6 lug nuts and have the same stance as a 4wd but is only a 2wd, so they are "pretending" to be a 4wd. There are 2wd base models, have only 5 lug nuts and don't have the "look" of a 4wd, these are NOT prerunners.
