    SOLD! Please delete!

    240,000 miles

New upper and lower control arms, upper and lower ball joints, steering rack bushings, sway bar links, coils, shocks, new leaf and shocks in rear. front and rear diff fluid, oil change, radiator flush, truck was rusty in the rear end when i bought it so i took the bed off cleaned it all up and pore15 rear frame. There were 2 soft spots above the shock mounts that i cut out and repaired replaced rear axle housing, shafts, and fluid.

Some rust in tailgate corners and and front eyebrow. Other than these items its a good truck.

Interior is clean, bluetooth radio, new window motors in front.

Selling to buy a highlander or pilot for the family. I drive this truck about 3-4x a week so mileage will be going up.

Im in San Antonio, willing to meet just about anywhere.

Well… I was expecting a little bit more interest. Was I too open about the good and the bad? Price too high?
    Give me some feedback friends!

Price seems a bit high for a truck with multiple CEL’s and an ABS issue, especially with 240k miles.

As someone in the market (and local) for a first gen, the combination of high ish miles, price, and multiple codes caused me to pass over quickly. GLWS.

OK! That is pretty much what I expected. For you guys, would you prefer the problems fixed and the price to stay or the price to come down?

Probably lower price. But I don’t value these 1st gens at the prices they go for. (I am not in the 1st gen market)

Fix the cel and sell for the same price. Until then maybe 9k. Sorry we don't know what's wrong with it, we can guess but we really don't.
    Fix it

I fixed the Abs issue yesterday just a loose sensor on front end. Ordered o2 sensors earlier and gas cap. Im sure that will solve all the issues. Will continue to update as a fix.

I appreciate your honest and detailed for sale listing but for that kinda of money a truck I would be interested in would have no issues and lower mileage, I just can’t imagine buying a vehicle at what seems like top dollar with it needing work

Yes absolutely way too high. I just input your truck on KBB and even if the truck was in “excellent” condition, it would be about $9k private party. I’d classify yours as “fair” condition probably (assuming no accidents). If it’s classified as good condition, then private party would be about $6,500.

In the sellers defense, KBB doesn’t quite cut it with valuing these older Tacoma’s. More need to look into what stuff is selling for on Craigslist, here, etc.

It’s still overpriced with the issues, but if he took care of all the CEL’s, a number close to $13k asking is not unreasonable (not saying it will sell for that).

[OP] you have a nice truck. I'm a g3 and g2 owner looking to get my 5th g1. Yours is a "good starter truck" you have the elocker which is a great start. But the times of over charging for g1 have closed a bit. At 9k I might might come look at it. At 7k I'd buy it now. I know that's hard to hear. But the economy is shrinking. Someone who needs a truck can go buy my 2007 g2 for a little more then you are asking with fewer miles. I'm not trying to talk you down to steal your truck. I'm putting it in perspective. It is throwing codes like crazy.

Give me 5k and I'll drive to you for a trade. You can watch me build your old truck into a Colorado beast.

But I would give him cash for it at 7k beyond that it's a truck. A truck that's getting rare. But not rare yet.v

Okay, I changed the gas cap and the O2 sensors about two weeks ago. Have not seen the CELs come back on but I want to be sure that the problem is solved before I update this post.
I’ll drive it around a little bit more and I will consider it cleared of any codes. Just FYI for you guys..
