I just changed the ATF fluid and filter on my 2003 Base 2WD 2.4L. It has the tranny # that starts w/ the"4" and has the small filter. My Hanes Manual (!!**) listed the ATF capacity as 1.8 Qts. I put that much in and tranny didn't work worth shit. So I added another qt, making a total of 2.8 qts. Now it runs okay (better than before I changed it), but the level only just touches the cool marks on the dipstick (when it's cool, of course). So, I'm wondering what the hell the capacity is supposed to be.

Hey, thanks, Les! I've already put in more than the 2.5 qts they say, but the reason for that may be that I replaced my radiator before I changed the ATF, so the new radiator ATF cooler was empty.
