2002 tacoma side mirror glass removal

I'd like to color match my mirrors. Before I send them off I want to pop the glass out so paint gets played down even and looks "factory" I have looked on here and found info for 05-up only. I did try what I seen in video but no luck. Any help would be great. I have also included a photo of the mirror in talk. Yes its dirty but will deep clean before paint.

 

I have the same mirrors and want to do the same thing, so I would also like to know how.

 

Make that a third. I want to remove the glass. I assume it is held in with plastic clips - don't want to just start yanking. This manual mirror was used 2001-2004 and some place say also for 2000. Toyota sells replacement glass so there is a way to get it off.

 

my stock 98 prerunner has these same manual adjustable mirrors with the small handle on the inside of the cab.
