Attached is my 2003 Tacoma Ext cab. I added the ECT power switch. (it must be available on another model) I also have a low fuel light that comes on next to the ECT light.

The best way to see what the lights are on your truck is to shine a flashlight where the lights should be at night and you can read the print.

Trust me I’ve tried this many times, but the flashlight method never worked for me. I had to actually remove the cluster for the dash and shine a light after removing the bulb sockets to truly see what they were.

The lower left hand side has RR DIFF LOCK, CRUISE, and ABS. When I did my 4WD conversion I custom made a lens to instead say 4HI, CRUISE, and 4LO since I didn’t have a diff locker or ABS.

Right hand side should have the CEL, 4x4 symbol, and the ECT.

They changed positions of a lot of the icons over the years - my RR DIFF LOCK was on the left.

    I have a 1998 2.7l and it has cruise. So does my 1998 3.4l

It was an option at the factory

My 98 2.4 base model has cruise... the only "option" it comes with.

My 97 2.7 has cruise. They are generic clusters and only light up what the vehicle is optioned with. I know my cluster has RR diff lock light but no locker. I don't Rembert the others, it's been to long since I've had the cluster out.

OK, so left is: RR Diff Lock|Cruise|ABS. Right side is: Washer fluid|4wd|ECT

01-04 are the same. Cruise was an option on every model. maybe yours doesn't have it, but the cluster is generic and has the spots for every option regardless if it works or not.

Yup I can confirm the differences were 1995-1997, 1998-2000, and 2001-2004.

They changed it during every model revision. My washer light is switched with the check engine light on both my 1998’s.

How’d you get the whole cluster to light up?

My A/T lights weren’t connected to anything. I actually used the wiring for those indicator lights and re-pinned it to use for my 4HI 4LO lights.

turn key to ON (not start), leave in park. put in 4LO, hit Diff lock, turn on cruise. voila. diff lock flashes so gotta time it right :D

Your A/T P light turns on when in park? Mine was hooked up but it’s never worked

My ‘98 has that in the cluster, but the harness wasn’t pinned for it.
