    2001 toyota tacoma
    Hello great page here lots of info.. i have a 2001 tacoma 2wd and was looking for rims and tires and i went to a place and he is recommending tuff wheels model T-05 17 inch, tire size 255/55r17 or the 255/65r17. my question to you guys is will this work with no issues and will my gas mileage be about the same? these are the wheels. thanz in advance....

    Have them test fit. Gas mileage who knows....

    2.7 w/auto, 4WU 3 link, F & R Diamonds, ARB's F/R w/ Yukon 5.29's, Inchworm 4.7 Lefty, Deavers, ARB OBA, Schrockworks up front.
    If the 8" width is all that is offered, the 255 tire width may be too narrow for that wheel.

    I ran 255/85's on stock 7.5" wide wheels and they were perfect. Fuel mileage wasn't affected on my V6. Speedo was off around 5-6 mph though.

    you will gain an inch in diameter if you upsize.

    if you mean stock 01-04 wheels then they are only 7" wide. 255 "section" width is 10" but the tread width is always different. the 255/85-16 is a 33" tire compared to the stock 31" so yes the speedo was off :)

    Yea the BFG 255/85/16 KM2 is pretty close to 34" 33.7 I believe.
