There are many manufacturers that make toppers for a 1st gen DCSB.

    Leer included.

Leer 100R and 100XQ are options.

Search the 1st gen marketplace here
or Craigslist. They pop up occasionally.

Or contact a local retailer and prepare to grab your ankles and grit your teeth.

I got the 100R 15 years ago. The clearcoat is starting to peel off in spots but all things considered it’s been a good cap. My main complaint is the back window will drain rainwater inside the bed when it’s up, which is not ideal if you live in Oregon. I have been told the 100XQ has a better rain gutter system on the back window. It’s also kinda heavy. It’s a tough two person job to install/remove by hand. If I was to do it over again I would look into a softopper. They didn’t exist when I bought my cap.

My 2003 has an ARE CX-series cap on it, put on by the original owner, I believe (I'm the third). It's scuffed and scarred in places, and not perfectly waterproof, but it's surprised me how much I appreciate it. I thought I'd use it once in a while and was looking for a place to park it. Nope. Hasn't been off the truck yet. I'm thinking about replacing what's almost certainly the original perimeter seal later this summer, hoping that might solve a minor (tiny even) water leak at the front bed corners.

These kinds of things show up used all the time and often have a lot of life in them. Start watching Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace in your area -- something will turn up.
