My 2001 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 v6 truck just got diagnosed needing new injectors. Should I buy oem factory new toyota injectors, at close to 200 each, or reconditioned oem injectors for 200 for all 6? or any other suggestions? I'm not sure about using after market ones. Thanks in advance for your help.

You can send your injectors to a service company that will clean them, test them for flow, install new seals, and return them for around $200 including shipping. You can also keep your injectors and buy a set of refurbished ones for the same price. One company that will do this is MotorWest in Canoga Park or Chatsworth, California.

Thanks, i went to motorwest site and they discontinued selling the oem ones, and replaced it with denso and say they are better than oem. I'm a bit worried having the refurbished ones installed not wanting to go through this again, that's why i want to know if anyone has had issues with the refurbished, or maybe someone knows where i can pick up some new ones for a little cheaper than toyota wants at 200 each. thanks again

I second MotorWest Denso injectors! I replaced my oem ones when I did valve covers a month ago. Trucks seems to idle lower, has a some more pep, and feels great overall.

I went motorwest recently as well, don't forget to change your fuel filter it's so cheap not to.

I read the description from MotorWest on the OEM injectors and why they no longer carry them (which is that the solenoids fail over time). The symptoms they described (engine runs worse with heat) is exactly what mine did. I replaced the injectors with Densos years ago and it runs fine. I bought mine from Amazon... supposedly new. Maybe the price was too good to be true. After looking at MotorWest and hearing others' experience I would consider them for my other 3.4 which will be due soon.

Are you saying your RPMs went down or it’s just a smoother idle?
