2000 Tacoma Manual Swap

I now realize that was an uninformed post. Im just gonna live with the check engine light until I switch to a standalone

 

First If you use the 04 ECM and Engine Harness with all the assorted sensors as well. You still need to source and repin the 4th ECM plug to your 2000 Truck as the 4th plug is part of the cab harness.

No Reflashing these ECM`s

I think the 2000 ECM can be repinned to work one of those things you need to sit down and look circuit by circuit. you need to eliminate the MIL light when the ECM no longer sees the Auto Transmission to be able to pass emission inspection.

I read of this years ago on Yota tech It really helps to have the Toyota EWD`s for all the vehicles involved.

Doing this swap I have found having a complete Donor Truck is by far the easy way to go. What you don`t want to keep can get sold or go for scrap.

So I should probably just splurge and get the correct one then. Not sure what the difference between 89661-04690 and 89661-04691 are

 

One might be Federal emissions the other California

Does your truck have 1 or2 Cats?

 

Why does this say it fits a range of years?
Is there some overlap or is this the wrong one?

 

Amazon tends to make mistakes all to often

Just what is your Production date of your Truck?

Have you figured out if you have the federal or California Emissions?

 

Depending on where you are in NC, I know a good inspection place...

 

That ecu listing is from Toyota Parts Deal and no I haven't figured it out yet

according to Toyota spec search it says order date is 04/2000

 

The production date is on your door sticker!
