This will be my fourth Toyota 4X4 pickup. I'm purchasing a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I've never put a lift on a truck and I'm seeking advice for going up 2". I've realized the limitations of going anywhere near off road without a little lift. Can anyone suggest the best suspension upgrade and what I'll need to spend?
    Thanks,
    Bo

It's going to depend on what you'll be using the truck for. But an all around solid starting point from what I've researched is the Bilstein 6112 coilovers up front and the 5100s in the rear. I only leveled my truck so for the rear lift I didn't look much into it but you can get a lift block, add-a-leaf system, or even a whole new leaf pack to raise the rear to your desired height.

There are so many options out there. It depends on how much you want to spend. I have always thought of King or Fox as the best. If on a budget what EvoRescueVehicle said.

Bilstein 5100s set @ 2" up front is the best bang for the buck. Then you need to lift the rear approx. 1" with either a block or AAL.

This is basically the OEM TRD lift at half the cost.

I installed this after waiting for all the parts and it is by far the best suspension I have had on any truck. But it wasn't cheap. I have it at about 1.5 to 2 inches right now and will raise it another inch when the 285's go on

    A few.
Going to be anywhere from less than $100.00 for cheap spacer kits all the way up to top of the line Kings coilovers for over $3000 and a number of options in between. Checking out the 88rotors youtube channel can give you some ideas to get started.

For me: King products. Toytec Lifts has a complete kit they put together . Be sure to check lead times from vendors - last I heard if you ordered king shocks from anyone they ship in 3-6 months.

I do not have my taco lifted (yet) as I am waiting to get more value out of the stock meats but I had King 3.0s in a Carli Dominator kit on my 3/4 ton Dodge back in 2009 and that kit performed exceptionally. I am a big fan of the King bypasses and the hydrodynamic bump stops. If Mike Patey puts King shocks on his backcountry aircraft you can bet the products are quality. My $.02.

I recommend you do plenty of research on the front diff drop kit. There are some that swear by it and others that say don't worry about the increased angles.

King is excellent, though Fox is very good as is Icon. I dont have experience with icon but from what i jabe heard. I have used Fox, bilstein amd Kings. At the top level, I think king is best. If you are going with the middle level, no external reservoor, etc, I think they are all pretty close.

I really like how my truck rides with the TRD lift and it does not void factory warranty

I have a 17' TRDOR that we have the full Toytec with 3 leaf AAL on, I'm getting another additional 22' TROD next month and I will be doing a Bilstein 6112/5100 combo with single AAL. I went this route this time for price more than anything, I was able to get the entire lift for under $1k and the Toytec was $3k. The 17' has 2 3/4 inch lift with SPC UCA's, I will be doing a 2.25 inch with 6112's and no UCA's on the new 22'.

I’m in the process of deciding which lift to go with as well. First choice was 5100’s but now it’s the Bilstien 6112’s or take the plunge and just by some Icon 2.5 coilovers. Had them a Tundra before and liked them

Don’t over look Toyotech 2” boss aluma, mid range in cost, adjustable if you ever want to go up. Have a set of the 2.5” on my 17 TRD or. Beat the shit outta that truck for 2 years since build and they preform well. The only need for reservoir is for fast whoopdy’s. If you mild to none off roading king is overkill and not a needed expense. OME dakars squeak, I couldn’t deal with that so I paid for deavers. I run total chaos control arms upper and lower, heim joints. Again, I abuse my truck. My limited will not see off road, I will still go with the toyotech in front and deaver in the rear, about 2”, pulls a small trailer, probably do the Total chaos uppers.
As has been said by many, what are your plans for the truck

Pinion...thanks for the intel. I have a 2019 Limited. I don't plan on doing what you show in the pics. I like the lifted look but like the ride quality as well. I want to use good parts and do it right the first time. Price is really not a major issue. But,I don't want to purchase SEMA items for the lift. Any help in the decision is great. I do like the Dobinsons application, and would like a kit like that. I've used Deaver products on past trucks.
Any advice or intel is appreciated.

Toyotech boss aluma front and rear planned for mine, deaver leafs, less then 2k for 2”Awesome ride quality, even if you went with the 2.5 boss aluma
Rear leafs depend on weather you’re carrying load or towing
