2.7 Mods?

Any cool mods for the 2.7 4 banger? engine mods? interior/exterior mods?

 

NO.... none at all. Pretty much all “performance” Parts for the 2.7 don’t work. It’s a Scam. Just Regear the whole truck to 4.88 or 5.29

Hey it’s a wonderful little engine , but regearing will change how it completely drives. Makes it pull better and eliminates gear hunting , better 4wd experience, better cruise control experience , and so much more. There’s no tuning (like OVtune) available yet and probably never .

save up 2-2500 bucks and get a reputable shop to do it. Worth it in my opinion .

 

I recommend a nice drop-in dry reusable filter like aFe and also an LCE header. If youre out in Cali and have to get smogged, doug thorley makes a carb legal header.

with all do respect , all those mods don’t justify the hp gain and price spent. Regearing makes all available power 100% more useable

drop in filters suck in dirt (proven in oil analysis) and shorten long term engine life .

those Doug Thorley or lce headers gain what ? Like 10-15 hp max? Lol! You won’t feel anything , only your butt dyno and massive placebo.

Where I live, we have swamp buggies and mud trucks that are turning tractor tires and have 4cylinder under power , but with crazy regear and it turns the tires like mad. It’s all about the gears... changes everyone’s life.

Call east coast gear supply, order new 3rd member with new gears... swap out your 3rd member for the new one and return yours as core. If 4wd... gonna have to do front and back in the same gear ratio.

 

I have 5.29s in my truck so we can agree there. I was just posting a couple things that were cheaper for the OP. Regearing is a good deal more expensive but i do think its worth it if you can live with the added rpms on the hwy with taller gears. I am running 33s and she screams at 75mph but it gets out of its own way now

Then only the rear 3rd member is needed.
Fairly simple exchange from what I understand.

 

There are supercharger kits available. That’s the extent of my information for 2.7L
