New to this forum first post. I Have 22 TRD sport lb. Looking for suggestions. I will begin by saying I know you get what you pay for and I should save my money and get real lift. I will barley doing any off road and lid mainly for looks. Just ordered some fuel 17x9 fuel wheels and Nitto ridge grapplers 265/70/17. I want to do a small spacer lift maybe 2” front 1-1.5” back. The more I read and go down rabbit holes I see the possibility of needing to replace Uca, lower differential or carrier bearing drops. How much if any is really necessary. I understand the items will wear more and willing to change what I need but with such a small lift is it needed? Also the reason for the 1.5” in back was suggested on Toytec site so that the angle is similar so that there won’t be any issues with the TSS, which would be a whole other post. Items I were suggested to use was a Motofab 2” front leveling kit and either supreme or Toytec 1.5” rear spacer.

I have had the 2” inch rough country spacer for a while now while I save for real suspension and I am still running the stock UCAs. I haven’t had any problem at all. I used to have the ready lift 1.5” rear block but now I have the Icon AAL which is about the same height.

If you’re not doing any off roading you definitely wont need new UCAs just for 2” pucks.

I just did a Supreme Suspension 2 and 1. I did it myself. Have very limited
Mechanical ability. Just need a nice socket set and 2 jacks. Highly recommend. $150, gives it just a slight aggressive look. No other changes. Didn’t need to recalibrate sensors. Feels pretty stock still.

Which wheels did you go with? I wanted 17 x 9 Blitz or Beast but I decided to save $$$ and stay stock. Grapplers as well, but skinnies. 265 70s will look great.

For me 2" blocks in the back did not require anything other than u-bolts. That said, the ride got worse and when I switch to Bilstein 5100s I will relocate the rear brake line for the extra droop.

Up front 2" or less should not require any other mods. You may get a vibration from the needle bearing eventually from what I have seen, although it seems less than 2" means that isn't a sure thing. I'm at 1.5" in front from Bilstein 6112s.

I will say that new shocks are worth it in ride improvements. For anyone doing a small lift I would recommend the Bilstein 5100s and blocks (or AALs). The shocks alone make the extra cost worth it

Truth be told…and hindsight being 20/20…if I had known how easy it was to tear apart the suspension, I would have spent a few more bucks and just did bilsteins. For
Minimal $$$ I still recommend 2” blocks or less all day though. If they ever give me problems, Bilsteins it is.

For a 2" front (which is a 1" and change spacer), three only thing you'll need is an alignment and a sway bar relocation bracket (20 bucks).

For the rear, it would be advisable to replace shocks. They don't like being topped out. I would also recommend AAL over rear blocks to mitigate amplified axle wrap.

I know differential drop was recommended but not required (I didn’t do) but sway bar relo? What’s that about?

I didn’t do either of these things either, been running my current set up for about 20K miles with zero issues.

I’ll be switching to 6100’s soon though, and that will bring it down to 1.5” of Lift in the front.

It's just a tiny pair of brackets that drop the sway bar 1/2" and scoots it forward 3/4". It keeps the bar from rubbing the coils due to the sight change in geometry.

And diff drops are more problems that they are worth, unless you really go hog wild and do full drop bracket.

Will keep an eye on that. I’m a YouTube mechanic…if the video I’m learning from doesn’t mention it…I don’t know about it!

That setup will look perfect. Any small lift you add will enhance it. Going to look very nice.

24DA24AC-117F-4D2F-9C86-A4BB25D94A4E.jpg So the Bilstein shock can I keep the stock front coils and just get new shocks ? I didn’t realize they were adjustable. Not that bad of a price either.

So an option is 6122s in front and 5100s and either the spacer block or add a leaf? Will that lift the back?

Correct. It's sightly more involved labor wise to swap coils. If you're confident at compressing springs (or are willing to learn), it's the way to go.

If you do go the block route…see exactly what you’d be getting into.

I used this as an instructional and finished in one evening and the next morning (and I’m basically an idiot).

Yea I have seen this. So nothing else besides what’s in video? Did you have a lift or just Jack stands?

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
For around $800 you can get a set of 4 Bilsteins and the front ones will be complete and assembled with OME sorings. Then you'd just need rear blocks or add a leafs and U-bolts. You could probably put together a whole package for under $1000.
