1TR vs 2TR

Good day,
I would like to upgrade my engine from a 1TR to a 2TR. Does anybody knows whether i would need to do modifications to the engine or vehicle or would the 2TR fit just the same as the 1TR ?

doubt it. What vehicle do you have the 1TR in?

 

Thanks for your quick response. I actually have a Toyota Hiace Bus/Van but they use the 1 TR and 2TR engines same as Tacoma. I'm ordering a 2TR engine from California so just wanted to be sure whether the overall engines are the same.
and when you said you doubt it what exactly were you doubting i,e whether it would fit or whether i would have to make modification ?

Where are you located? If outside of CA i would order a NON CA motor.... so you dont have to deal with possible special emissions junk that we have here on CA motors.

 

Interesting.....I'm Actually from Dominica in the Caribbean. Are you saying that CA motors are diffrent from non CA motors ? Do they have like extra gadgets and sensors ? Since the overall engine size and dimension is the same than it should be fine !? No ?

 

As far as i know all 2nd gen tacomas are the same in all 50 states. That said, unless its a smoking deal on the one from CA id grab one from a vehicle in another state.

 

Why from a another state ?
