Im looking at buying a silver camper shell for my 99 taco but not sure if the silver will look good on my white truck any thoughts or anyone with a similar color mashup?

I have white truck also. If I wanted a camper shell and found one at the right price, I'm pretty sure I could justify any color as going "just fine" with white...

I’ve read that Maaco does good, reasonably priced paint jobs on toppers.

I ran silver truck with black topper for a year. Worked great, price was right, and I was happy. Get it you'll forget about the color difference. But a few months ago I found a color matched topper on here and traded it out.

I have a 20 year old black Glasstite truck shell that I bought new that was scratched up and looking worn out on the sides. I had Maaco repaint my shell the same black paint as the factory paint on my truck. It's a nice match and gave my shell a fresh look! I also had to take it to Campways to replace the foam insulation inside the windows since my windows were leaking when it rained. It was a good investment, made my shell water tight, and looks good on the exterior. I appreciate my shell a lot more with the issues resolved.

Silver+white won't look good. But $20 in rattle can work and you'll be set. Black will look fine but gloss black is about the hardest color to work with.

There's a ton of different whites out there and getting av true match is hard. But painting a completely different object, the match didn't have v to be exact.

BUT the easiest way, take your trucks paint code to napa. They can mix the right color into a rattle can for you. And you can get a clear coat mixed as well. Ive done it a couple times when what i was working on didn't justify going full bore on a paint job.

Or maaco for a couple bucks and be done.

I’ve had a white shell on my gold/tan truck for 6 years. I’m pretty used to it. It’s no big deal.

I have a luner mist sungtop on my white double cab. Honestly in some lighting it looks white. They’re close enough that it really doesn’t look that bad in my opinion

If you didn't have the description with the first picture I would never guess that it was silver.

I’ve got a blue one on my tan truck, plan on raptor lining and getting it tinted to my color code. If the price is right the color doesn’t matter imo

Mine was originally silver, repainted dark green before I bought it. Didn't look terrible, and for $200 I could not even remotely complain.
