1st Gen Chevy Colorado Camper on 2nd Gen Tacoma?

2011 Tacoma 2.7L RWD Prerunner

I found a killer priced camper shell that came off a 2008 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab Short Bed. The Colorado's bed is slightly longer than my 2nd Gen Tacoma by about an inch. I'm not so worried about the length rather than the width of the camper. Has anyone ever done something like putting a 1st gen Colorado camper on a 2nd gen Tacoma? Any thoughts, inputs, or advice are welcome. Thanks!
