I pulled my Corbeaus out and installed these a month ago...they are from a 2019 Crosstrek....$400 for the set at a local salvage yard. Well made seats and provide excellent support. They are exactly 20.5" wide from plastic to plastic. You dont really want to go any wider than that. You can mount them to a generic seat base (what I did) or with a little bit of patience you can weld up your own. Super comfortable and will raise you off the floor by 3-4 inches...which is a nice bonus. No more go-karting. The nice thing about these is the seat base is flat....no protruding bump on the sides of the base to poke you in the a$$ as you climb up into the cab. One of several complaints I had with the Corbeaus. By far my favorite mod. Really comfortable...wifey loves it.

I have the Corbeau Baja XRS seats. They are nice, the back is a little low, and they dont slide forward as much as the stock seats. But they are comfy enough. Get seat heat

How do they feel? I've heard that those, and most Corbeaus, are too firm (which is what a racing seat should be).

I liked the Corbeaus at first because...lets be honest....plywood attached to concrete blocks feel better than taco seats with over 100K miles and admittedly, they look really good. But I dont feel they held up very well. The Lumbar air pump feature broke almost immediately. The side bolsters collapsed after about a year from everyday entry and exit and every passenger of every body type complained about them for one reason or another. Ultimately, they weren't very comfortable IMO. The subaru seats are superior in every way. Also a great value especially when you can get two quality made seats for half of what Corbeaus will run you. I would never buy corbeaus again after running these new-to-me Subie seats. With an aftermarket seat base, these are an easy, extremely worthwhile mod.

I'm liking this mod, what aftermarket rails did you get? also any height/head clearance issues with the seats being higher?

    https://corbeau.com/toyota-tacoma-oem-bucket-60-40-95-04-seat-brackets/

I removed the Subaru fore and aft adjustment control mechanism and foot mounts and mounted the seat onto the Corbeau brackets without an issue. It operates smoothly. Another bonus is, if you take your time, you can remove the Subaru hardware (flat head bolts and the nuts) and reuse it to attach the base/slider to the seat. I think I spent about 2 hours doing the swap. Youll love it.

I will say...no, no height issues at all..they fit nicely BUT you will sit noticeably higher than with the stock seat. I appreciate the new seat height as I never liked the feeling of sitting on the floor....the new seating position definitely feels more natural.

Do you still like the seats? How much higher would you say you're sitting? Any other feedback?

Yes...I still really like them and if you can get them cheap enough...my favorite mod to date. As far as driving height.... I would say they will elevate your driving position about 3" +/- and in my opinion is a noticeable improvement. However, I am about 6' so I would say someone at say 6'2" or taller might start feeling cramped. I believe the height adjustment apparatus and bracketry under the seat is what accounts for the additional height. If Im not mistaken, I believe you could remove that jungle gym...and youd be closer to the stock seating position again. And for anyone asking...I used the Corbeau seat bases/sliders....they arent cheap but make the transformation easier. Although, with a little patience, you could dismantle the Toyota base to reutilize the sliders. Hope this helps.

Appreciate it, Thank You. For the longest time I've been eyeballing the Corbeau's and the reviews have killed that.

No problem....I didnt know how uncomfortable my Corbeau's were until I rented a Subaru on a business trip....wasnt a huge fan of the car itself but loved the support in the seats. They are the right dimensions for a 1st Gen and are way more comfortable...just thought I'd pass it on. Good luck!

    A lot
you have convinced me to do this asap as this 1st gen seat is killing me.

Ordering the brackets, is there a specific model of Subaru seat I need? If I understand you, you removed the seat from the subaru base and mounted directly to the corbeau base correct?

Corbeau buckets bolted in but had to fab some stuff for the seat belt receptacle. Buckets were like 450 per seat and 250 for brackets I think. I like the seats but I’m under 170lbs some of my bigger friends didn’t fit right in the seats their shoulders were rolled forwards and the seat was too small I think. Wife actually has a 2019 crosstrek and the seats are nice. If I was on a long 2-3 hour drive the crosstrek seats would probably be more comfortable but the Corbeau would be better if bouncing around off-road. Crosstrek would be better for a long drive anyway better mileage and ride.
