i guess NY does not have a 'color code'?

... think i read previously somewhere that CA is forced to use all black for smog inspections :notsure:

Color doesn't matter in CA smog, but all the EVAP bits and bobs need to be there.

Just used this kit and got a few extra ft of 8mm. And had a decent amount left over and everything fit great, hoses felt nice, and seemed to be good quality. Definitely recommend.

Pulled the trigger on my kit today. Here's hoping that it makes it before Christmas..

I need to adapt an older style intake hose to my truck as well, since I really don't feel like spending an extra $100 just for a barely different hose. Hopefully that and the vacuum lines will address a pending P0442 code I keep having to reset with my ultra gauge.

It seems that my air intake hose is of a different design from most other 3.4 liter Tacomas. That lead to some headaches during my vacuum hose refit, but thankfully some hardware store plumbing parts appear to have corrected my problem.

I'm guessing this stupid thing was strictly for noise abatement.

I did this job over this past weekend. I used about 9ft of 8mm hose and 2ft of 6mm hose from siliconeintakes.com. I also ordered some red 10mm hose for the brake booster line, but decided against installing it. The OEM hose (44773-04020) is 50% thicker and wasn't in that bad of shape, and I didn't want to downgrade with the thinner silicone hose.

I replaced the clamps on all the hoses and put in a new PCV valve, grommet and ventilation cap. The old clamps were rusty and ugly and I wanted to retain the OEM look as much as possible.

The old PCV valve seemed to function just fine although the old grommet was a PITA to remove. The heat had hardened the rubber into something that more resembled plastic.

Here's the overview of all of the hoses I replaced. It's possible I mislabeled one or more of the evap components, still learning my way around the evap system. Appreciate any feedback. This is for a 2004 3.4L Taco, the older ones seem to have different evap setups.

    6mm
    - Intake Resonator Hose, 9" long, no clamps
    - Radiator Overflow Tank Hose, 8" long, 2 clamps

    8mm Hoses
    - Airbox to Vent Valve, 43" long, 2 clamps
    - Purge Valve to Throttle Body, 22.5" long, 2 clamps
    - Purge Valve to Surge Tank, 1.5" long, 2 clamps
    - Surge Tank to Service Port, 2" long, 2 clamps
    - Service Port to Fuel Tank(??), 5.75" long, 2 clamps
    - Vent Valve to Fuel Tank, 9" long
    - PCV to Throttle Body, 8" long, no clamps (DON'T USE silicone for this one!)
    - Radiator Overflow Tank Drain Pipe, 9" long, no clamps

    Clamps
    - 10 x 8mm hose clamps (96132-51300)
    - 2 x radiator hose clamps (90069-19014)
    - 2 x brake booster hose (96133-41500)

[EDIT] After having these installed for several months, I've noticed oil seeping through the PCV to throttle body hose. I don't think silicone is suitable for this hose, and I've replaced it with 1/4" ID fuel line. You should be able to buy fuel line by the foot from most auto parts stores.

Not yet, but I just ordered a set of gaskets for the gas tank, and will be pulling my bed to replace here in the next month or two. I am chasing a P0456 (small evap leak) code, and I suspect that I have a bad sending unit gasket. While I have the bed off I intend to change all of the vacuum hoses for the canister. I will update this post with the details once I get them replaced.

I forgot I had ordered a kit from these guys for my bronco which I no longer have, but the kit is still in a box somewhere. I’ll have to dig it out and see if I’ll be lucky enough to have the correct lengths in the correct diameters. Nice documentation @CrustyTaco !

    Just ordered this same kit.

I ordered the red, not because I want to be fancy, but because the black was back ordered, and I didn't feel like waiting. So, fancy red it is...

Price was also still the same (shipped) as it was in the OP: $49.43

Can I ask what size tubing and attachment you used? I seem to have the same air intake as you. And the OEM part for the vacuum hose is a preformed and has two different size outlets.

I just did the one from the air box to the pressure valve and it resolved my small vacuum leak detected. I had it wrapped in electrical tape for years but I guess it finally got too worn.

I think the hose is the 10mm from the silicone intakes.com kit. The plastic part is a hose barb from a local hardware store. I can't remember the exact diameter, but I believe it's NPT to a standard hose barb.
