I have a 1999 toyota tacoma that does not crank or start. I've checked the starter, battery, connection, and I've changed the starter relay and still nothing. I was able to get it to crank by running a separate wire from the starter signal wire to the actual trigger post on the starter but the engine would only crank with no start. The odb2 port also has no power, the truck just didn't want to turn on in the morning. Anything helps at this point.

Did anything happen prior to this starting?

    Auto or Manual??

It can be either of the neutral Safety circuits not being closed.

get the no crank problem fixed then the no start.

Nothing will connect to the OBDII port you have cleaned the truck side the do tend to corrode .

in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment there are a few large bolt in fuses... if you follow the large wire from the alternator into the fuse box you will see them. I think one of these is blown.

Well if your issue is no crack and no start, have you tried putting some crack in the gas tank? Maybe it's just going through withdrawals...

I feel like a sprinkle in the maf port would do fine.

I added a separate wire to bypass the neutral safety switch and was able to get the car to turn over but it didn't start

I checked all the fuses and they all work as do the relays. I changed the starting one just in case but still nothing

Now that you got it cranking pull a spark plug and ground it to the engine block with wire attached, crank it and look for spark.

I'd start by checking power on both sides of your AM1 fuse, it feeds 1/2 of the ignition switch, the starting circuit, and the OBD port.
If it's good go to your ignition switch and check power there.

Does your check engine light come on when the key is on?

Did you check your fuses in the interior fuse box? If they are all good and your underhood fuses are all good you need to check powers and grounds at the PCM, I'll pull the diagrams when i get back home.

No CEL with key ON = bad bulb or ECM
Add no OBD points to bad ECM.
    BUT
It could also just be corrosion at the connection.

Would you happen to know a way to check it?

I would seriously figure out your cranking issue first if that started at the same time as you will likely fix both issues.
Never condemn an ECM without verifying powers, grounds, and that there are no shorts on the 5v ref circuit.

Might the no crank be due to the neutral because from the alternator to the battery the voltage is 12.5 and the signal wire doesn't have any power sent to it when cranked but the there is power at the ignition switch when cranked. The truck got me to work and when I was going to lunch it didn't want to start (no crank no start)

Do you have power on both sides of the sta fuse when the key is turned to crank?

Alternator output should be 14.5 V.
Sounds like a dead cell in battery.
Load test the battery. If it drops below 10.5 V. under load nothing will work properly.
