so tired of that 60/40 bench seat . needed padding fixed and new upholstery . it was boring and uncomfortable . useless arm rest.
read stories of others ditching oem seats for a variety of others .
pretty much committed at this point ...lol
sound deadener installed in roof , doors etc . I could tell a difference in ambient noise by just doing doors and roof .

sound deadener partial install . had to pause on flooring until I get new (used) seats properly fitted with mounting mods

I am replacing carpet and seats .
Found seats in a totaled '06 4Runner . I had to remove drivers seat to see if any good . Vehicle must have rolled as the air bags were not deployed . Strange ? Rescue must have cut the seat belts for extraction . It was a mess to say the least .
Someone had already claimed the V8 motor .
Anyway the seats actually cleaned up nicely . Both are powered and work . Drivers is a bit better with power lumbar as well.
Had to re-engineer seat mounts . It was a challenge . More pics of that to follow. Thought it wouldn't have entailed this much work but I wasn't gonna give up on this challenge .

fabricated a bracket for track next to transmission tunnel , reduced the foot on outboard side by an inch and bored a new mounting point where the mounting/alignment pin was on the foot. Seats are level . Maybe half inch higher than oem seat +/- .
could not reuse or modify original hardware going from manual seat to electric . totally different beast.

There is a whole host of small gauge wires in the new seat harness that I just left alone . nothing to connect to . 2 larger gauge wires that were easy to figure out as pos & neg . ran 2 hot wires to positive on battery with inline 30amp fuse for each seat . short negative lead ground to the floor pan . found the wiring schematic online that showed the 30amp and was labeled always hot/active or something like that.
I used original seat belts and reconnected the only connector that is for the idiot light on dash. Someone had taken care of the chime before I owned this truck .

edit : I thought I could be slick and just cut the wires going to seat belt . wrong . I had to mend those wires back because the seat quit working ...lol . now the seat belt latch is wire tied to underside seat . no harm under there .

OK finally got them in . it's been a challenge . Gonna ride a week or so like this before I finish laying the sound deadener and install carpet .
Is it perfect ? Nope . The passenger seat does not lean forward anything like the old seat so no climbing in back. At least not me .The downside of electric . Not even putting the one jump cushion back . Passenger side jump cushion left a long time ago when I mounted a powered sub on the bulkhead .
Besides I can now reach between and the biggest thing I'll put back there is maybe a carry on bag or some groceries.

As far as these seats go they are a huge improvement over that tired 60/40 bench . One thing I did was switch the cover and cushion from driver to passenger . Now I'm sitting in a fairly new seat  .

Next objective is to find a decent center console

And lastly I paid Pic n Pull $120 minus 10% for the seats . I've seen older 4Runner seats on eBay with cigarette burns and no electric for $800
I consider myself very lucky and have found a treasure trove of info on this Tacoma Forum.

found center console on eBay . threw in the towel on finding one locally . this one in pretty darn good shape .
I like that it's 2 storage areas in 1 and it flips up out of the way .
might look into getting a lock box for the bottom storage . that will be a custom job for sure.

Did you source the carpet OEM or from ACC? It all looks great!
