    5vz to 5vz? 5vz to 3rz? 5vz to 2rz?

If 5 to 5... you need to swap the oil pan and pickup to the tacoma unit. likely y-pipe... and definitely engine wiring harness...

Why engine harness? Run the t100 long block and reuse everything from the tacoma

    Some T100 are 3.0's.

depends if he is going 4cyl to 6 or vice versa. if it's 6 to 6, need to definitely re-use the tacoma full engine harness. i'd replace knock sensor wire, plugs, valve cover gaskets, injectors (get them rebuilt) while you are in there (plus do WP/timing belt / etc.)

Won't be able to run a 2/3rz harness with a 5vz. But I quoted @CanadaToy stating 5vz to 5vz, why change the engine harness.

Only on early 93/94. 95+ are 5vz. Op stated the t100 he got access to is a 98.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The 3.4 engine is all the same just use all your original parts it does not matter where they came from.

Once stripped down to the long block

Just how long has that been sitting ?? Just How much will they pay you to take that Engine???

My first move pull the plugs and soak with some kroil for a week or so.

Unless your planning a complete rebuild

You would throw that out for scrap if you got it for free??

looks to be a great core to rebuild to me.

I wouldn't drop money into it. Those nuts and bolt are probably seized and will break off. It's probably best to not even waste time or money.

I guess it depends on where you are from. Up here, that would be tolerable. I bet you could get it 99% apart without snapping a bolt.

Thing is that is just on the surface .

I have yet to see blocks or connecting rods or heads that were to damaged by rust .

which is about all I might use.
