1998 needs tail lights. What years will fit?

    The other one broke. Time for new ones. What year range bolts in nicely to my 1998? (All 1st Gen??)

    Hi first post... the 2002 and later had a more modern looking light, does anyone know if it'll fit?

    Three different series of 1st gens. 95.5-97, 98-00, 01-04. For the taillights they are all interchangeable.

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    Yep, I'd go with the 01-04 lights, they look way better IMO. I am not being biased because mine's an 04, I preferred that style long before I ever had a first gen.

    The tail light from 1995-2000 will not fit on a 2001-2004. Been there, done that. My truck looked like a christmas tree when I did this.

    In my opinion, the tail light from 2001-2004 look amazing on a 1995-2000. And it fit.

    It is a ground problem. When the turn signal was on, the backup light was flashing and the tail light too.
