Well now that I replaced my Tacoma, I’m going to have to start building out my imported van.

It’s a 1993 Estima. Mid engine 4wd 2.2l turbo diesel (3C-TE). It’s a true JDM import. Right hand drive and 99 glorious buff horses.

I purchased it to use as a long range delivery vehicle. I’m starting a delivery business centered around sensitive/valuable cargo. The basic idea is to be able to have a delivery vehicle that I can sleep in/on so I can always be near whatever cargo I’m carrying (pets, valuable goods, etc) while also being able to deliver to rural areas that other delivery services can’t/won’t go to.

    My plans for the build:

3” lift (using a 1st gen sienna suspension)
Slightly taller tires (maybe 1-2” bigger than what’s already on it)
Full length custom roof rack (with QD mounts)
Rooftop tent (also with QD mounts)
Gutted interior - pull seats and carpets and replace with easily removed beelined aluminum plates(for easy cleaning)
    Extra lights
    Removable center console
    IPad mount
    Front/rear/interior dash cam
Aftermarket trailer hitch from a previa
    Diesel generator
Dual deep cycle battery setup with solar
    Small vehicle fridge
And most importantly, window tint (lol)

Obviously this isn’t going to be done all at once, but the basic idea is to have a self contained delivery vehicle capable of going long distances with/without having to leave the vehicle for sleep. One of the big things I’m going to be doing is pet delivery/transport and being able to stay with the animal at all times is a big deal. I picked this vehicle because it gets good fuel economy and is able to handle bad weather/road conditions. I’ll obviously lose some MPG’s with the rack/tent/lift/tires but
I’ll be able to make up the cost by not needing to stop at hotels and whatnot.

another reason why I picked an estima is because of the dual climate control. Doesn’t seem like a big deal but when transporting pets, keeping stress levels to a minimum is a must.

Until I get the van built to a minimum state for long distance transport, I’m going to be using it for a couple other delivery gigs I have in the works right now.

I’m truly in love with this little turbo diesel powered tuna. It’s going to be a fun van to build out. It only has 40k miles on it so it should have a very long life ahead of it.

I’ll get some more when I finish doing some maintenance. Got air in the fuel lines somehow.

    but here’s some interior shots

it’s got power curtains, power windows/locks, the seats fold down into a bed (I’m removing the 2nd/3rd row seats soon to make room for cargo) and one of the most comfortable upright seating positions I’ve ever felt.

I’m truly in love with this van. Just working out some kinks in the fuel system and it will be long distance road trip worthy!

Very cool. Reminds me of my buddy’s awd eagle summit. That thing really tore up the road.
