Will be swapping out my original OR wheel with a TRD pro wheel. Will be going either 275/70/17 or 285/70/17. I’m thinking I would like the 8” wide version over the 7” wide. Both show 5mm offset. Is it safe to say the 7” would be less prone to any rubbing? I Was going to try the 275 on stock suspension no lift and if it rubbed then do an OME 2” lift. Or the other option was the 285 with the OME lift.

The extra inch does push the tire out 1" so it is closer to the outside of wheelwell. Many people run the 8" including my wifes rig. It clears fine but.my wheels do have a -10mm offset to bring it back in a bit.

    Thank you for the info!

The 8” version is on eBay and are knock offs. Seems to have sold quite a few with positive feedback.

To agree and add to El Duderino,

the 17” 4Runner PRO wheels (which are 7” wide) a 255/75/17 tire aligns perfectly within 1/8” to the edge of the fender, so any increase in tire width will just increase that much out of the fender.

Example, if I go from my 255/75/17 to a 265/70/17 the tire will stick out 1/4” even though it’s 1/2” wider tire. The tire sticks out 1/4” on both the inside (towards differential) and outside (away from truck)
