Might be doing a wheel upgrade (have a 20% off accessories with dealership) for my SR5 but I'm torn on which way to go. I know the fake beadlocks need special lugs but I can mount them asap and take my time deciding on a tire but with the 4Runners I have to get a new set of tires at the same time. Any experience with either or these?

I really, like the 16" beadlock design's retro look. Not sure if I should go black or bronze. Both look incredible.

But..the 4Runner 17"s in black or gunmetal are pretty nice too...

Based on List Price, beadlocks are $45 more a piece; set of lugs are $135. That would offset tire cost some.

The Sema Pros are a 17x7 +4mm max
    -max. 275 width tire

    The 'beadlock' is a 16x7.5 +10mm
    -max. 285 tire

They stick out the same; about an 1" more than stock.
    7" has 1/2" more backspace.

4RUNNER pro wheels are so sick, a little played out but I prefer a beadlock type ring IMO.

And I prefer more sidewall rubber too.

I am debating the identical two options, and I think that the tire choice is definitely going to be the deciding factor for me. I think the beadlock wheels look excellent, especially on a darker truck, but they are definitely more of a retro appearance. I am leaning towards the SEMA Pros on 265/70/17s on my red truck, I have done a lot to get rid of most of the shiny bits on my taco, so I'm more likely to go with a wheel that is all dark.

In my opinion you can't go wrong either way!

I do like the retro feel of the beadlocks. But I believe there are more tire choices when you move up to 17s.

Fake Beadlocks they look better imo plus a lil more rare on the roads vs the 17 TRD wheels

You can change up the simulated bead lockers and run with or without rings, also powder coat the rings to something else else for a new look.
    no ring black.jpg black rings.jpg no ring.jpg

Can't do that with the 4Runner wheels.

Depends on the area, in my region I see more of the beadlocks on the road.

I've only seen the 4runner wheels on 4runners in my location.

Make sure you double check the fine print on the 20% accessories. I had one when I bought my truck but excludes anything from TRD. I am wanting the 16" pro rims and the local dealers won't budge on price. :argue::argue:

I think the 4Runner wheels are a much better look on the third gens. The bead lock wheels just look a little outdated imo.

I feel 16s look small on the 3rd gens and a better tire selection was enough to sway my decision.IMG_0692.jpg

I'm a beadlock guy, wife has a 4runner and don't want the same wheels. Not the best pics, but better than nothing.

I just put my wheels on, but I am thinking in a year or so when I get an itch to waste another $1200 on wheels I don't need..I'll just take the rings off and have a brand new wheel. I think they look great with them off.

I just installed the 4Runner wheels yesterday. I'm in love with the truck again. I wanted the red TRD to contrast against an all black wheel so so I purchased Gorilla lug nuts and wheel locks in black.

I thought about it, more bronze never hurt anyone. But that derped ring really brings out the superior rubber height on the 16s:D
