Hi all, new to Tacomaworld. Recently purchased an 06 Tacoma. Just lifted it, and would like new wheels as well. I am in search of a 16” steel wheel that will fit without spacers. I love the Procomp 51 series, or any similar steel wheel with the d hole design, but am also open to others as I have heard that many will not fit. I have read probably hundreds of threads on the topic, and hate to beat a dead horse:deadhorse:by bringing it up again. However, i have come up empty handed. I have heard of models specifically made for Toyotas, such as those made by Wheelers, and the Procomp 87T. These all seem to have been discontinued. I have read threads on people finding a wheel that fits, only to have multiple people claiming that the exact same one, with exact same offset and backspacing does not fit. I am not going 17”, as the truck came with almost brand new 265/75r16s. I also would much rather not go alloys. Please include the model, backspacing, and offset. If you have some that you’d be willing to part with, i’d be interested in taking off your hands. Thanks!

Not the best photo but these are 16” steelies off Amazon. They’re nice, solid and balanced easily with km2s. Mounted up with no issues.

Nice set up Matt. I Ran them for a couple years. 0AC3D053-20B6-4220-9252-93557BA1CD87.jpgRecently went bAck to factory alloys. The steel wheels are heavy and my mpg have increased since. 5B5782B4-51AF-4E79-B0CF-986746289505.jpg

On a side note, my steel wheels and cooper stt pros are for sale in the trading post. Including a spare that has never touched the road. Doubt you want white wheels on a red truck, though.

I don't know man, that white looks pretty nice, the black looks really cheap & trashy. Just my opinion.

Welcome to TW. Not sure why you limit yourself to just steel wheels. The only advantage of a steel wheel is being able to hammer a bend back in place in an offroad environment. Otherwise, steel wheels are heavy, sometimes balance issues, and rust.

Those steelies in posts #2 & #3 appear to be factory wheels, same as my 2005 TRD OffRoad spare.
If so, you might find 'em in salvage yards, probably came as factory spares on various Tacoma models.

Thanks for the replies, not to sure about the stock/spare style steelies though. Was looking more for crawler style ones. Was mostly interested in steel for the price. Anyone run a 16” simple looking alloy such as the procomp 69 series? Is there a specific backspacing/offset that will clear the brake caliper with/without minor trimming to them?

    Update:
I decided to go the alloy route. Originally wanted to go steel because of the price, but i got these off 4WP for under $100 a piece. Went with the Pro comp 7069, 16x8, 4in backspace, -12 mm offset. They fit! Cleared the caliper by a hair. Kept my 265/75r16 KO2’s. Ride and handling is noticeably better

In another thread, I was told you could see the difference in "factory black", "powder coated black", & "spray can black" wheels. I realize you got these wheels used, but do you know if they were factory, powder coated, or sprayed black? Thanks. Seems you're happier with alloy than steels, glad you found a deal, & Congrats.

I realize this is an old post, but I'm picking wheels for my '03 taco. My question is, does 2# make that much difference in rolling weight?

Here are my examples, Nomad 504 field alloys @ 25# versus T-100 steelies same dimensions but 27#

Nope. Nothing you can feel or measure. Get the ones you prefer.
