yes, the brake calipers are big and need a lot of room so if you go to 15" rims they will nearly touch or might not even let the rim go one depending on which rims you get.

it never hurts to try but to fit 15" rims I think you need the 5 lug calipers and spindles which wont work on prerunner or 4wd

I did not like the star pattern of the later first gen Tacomas. I took the 16" stock wheels off my 2003 Double Cab and swapped them for earlier 15" Tacoma wheels I found for cheap on craigslist. They cleared fine, and then I was able to run lighter floatation 31x10.5" tires.

    I ran these, from a 2000 Tacoma.

so which wheels fit? what year and what did they come off of?

inquiring minds want to know because lots of others would like to use 15's

I know I would have done it if I knew what to use before I bought new tires all around

Those are Tacoma wheels. I don't think any Tundras came with 15's. Those look exactly like the 15 inch wheels that came on my 2003. They will fit fine.

I think I foumd the answer above, but just to make sure. I have a 1999 Tacoma but it has 14s on it. I am having issues finding 14 rims that I like and some of the 15s I can get a decent price on at tirerack. So 15s came stock? Leery of buying online and not being sure they will fit.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    Welcome to TW!

Does your truck have 5 lugs or 6?

They will require different wheels, I don’t think 14s fit on the 6 lug trucks.

These 15 x 7 Enkei wheels fit my 2004 DCSB 4wd. I was running 31x10.50x15 mud terrain tires. Fit with no problem. I had them previously on my 1992 xcab.

I recently put a set of the stock 15x7s on my 2002, no fitment issues. Not to mention tires are significantly cheaper too.

They were a special package available only in Southeast and Gulf Coast dealerships in the early/mid 90’s.

These rims. Stock on 95.5-99ish tacomas and 4 runners, used on 4 runners maybe up to 03? Anyway, stock toyota rim, fits 1st gen taco, and many people are running them, including me. Should be fairly easy to hunt down a set for about 50 bucks a rim. Try car-part.com to search junkyards in your area.

I used to run the original steel OEM wheels that my truck came with until about almost 3 years ago. I bought a set of used OEM 6 spoke aluminum alloy wheels with mold growing on it off of Craig's List, took it to West Coast Wheel Repair in Fremont, CA to have it cleaned/polished/powder coated in black. I'm happy with the way it rides and looks on my truck. That being said, I bought a set of used 16" OEM 6 spoke aluminum alloy wheels that came off of a late '90s 4Runner SUV that will be getting installed sometime in the future due to my need for having a LOAD E tires that will handle heavier weight capacity.
