    Ok I have a 1996 tacoma, 3.4l 4x4
I'm looking at buying neew wheels for it. Pro comp caught my attention, mainly the 97 series. I want 15 inch, but people keep telling me I won't clear the caliper..? I don't get why though, my truck is sitting on 15s right now. Would these work or not?
    What specs would I need?
These are 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing.

Those people don't know what they're talking about. 15" wheels were standard on base 4wd Tacomas until 2005.

See that's what I was saying. Anyhow
Do you think the backspacing will be fine?
Anyone know the stock wheel specs?

I think they are 4.6" backspacing like all of the other OEM 1st gen Tacoma wheels. Your question about backspacing is tough to answer and it depends on the tire heighth and width you want to use.

15" work no problem. You need 6x5.5 or 6x139.7 and a hub centric wheel made for toyota. that width and backspacing will be fine.

Most procomp steel wheels will interfere with the wheel hub because of its shape. The clearance issue is not the outer circumference of the brake disc or drums.

This why using a 1/4 wheel spacer works. It moves the inner wheel hub surface outboard enough so that it will no longer hit the caliper.

I have 15" pro comps with 3.75" backspacing. Can't remember which series but they juuust barely rubbed my caliper so I had to A) run spacers or B) shave the caliper down. I chose to run spidertrax spacers up front to clear them. There are tons of 15" wheels that fit with no issue though

I really want to avoid having to use spacers. Not a big fan on them, honestly don't feel too safe either.

I, too, have 15" pro comps. Will have to check on the series and back spacing. Still have a 6th in the box..
