I'm really surprised with this, for all that money they should have included the trd super charger and better gear ratio. My little 2.7L would run along next to this truck from a dead stop all the way. I believe the TRD Pro to be over rated. For the money you're better of buying the base V6 4x4, adding you're own lift, tires, and a locker. Just my two cents.

Granted it is expensive. But if you are looking for an upgraded production offroad vehicle that you do not need anything to then yes its a great buy. Its only over priced when people buy it and then change suspension and such.

And obviously it is not a performance car, it is a truck at the end of the day lol

I have two buddies with 2.7s, and both agree that the 2.7 is inadequate at highway speeds

Okay but have YOU driven their trucks at highway speed? Don't knock it until you try it.

So far I'ved filled up twice. 1st fill up I got 18.3. Not to bad for a boat haha.

Wait. Can't you say the same thing to if you haven't driven a Pro. Why knock it if you haven't driven one. Just saying.

Like I said, the Pro ain't for everyone.

BRO, I'm not knocking it, I'm stating facts about the 0-60 in the video I watch they clocked 10.3 the first time and then 9.2 for the 2nd run... all I'm saying is based off fact, that it's kinda slow for a pro model, and you would think toyota would have tuned it differently to compensate for that added weight. That being said, you're right, the PRO model isn't for everyone, now do I think it's a beautiful truck YES, would I drive one if given the chance YES, would I buy one? The answer is NO, I'd rather spend the money on a base 4x4 and build it the way I want. Nothing more and nothing less. Enjoy your Pro and cheers... to each their own.

Don't knock the 2.7, it's a good little motor that has a good amount of torque for what it is.

    Never enough
This is interesting... I've never timed it but I'm pretty positive that my stock 2013 TRD OR would be significantly faster than the Pro. I wouldn't think there would be much difference in time due to the Pro's suspension and tires compared to mine. And before anyone says anything, I live and drive in Denver so if anything I am at a higher altitude than the truck in the video. The difference in weight between the Pro and OR must make all the difference. Anyone out there know what the approximate difference in weight is between the two models?

It's a trd pro, for offroad. Why would you expect it to be faster then a base model?

Pro is for show, not go.

It does well offroad for a stock vehicle. Btw the fact that these guys tried doing 0-60 testing at over 5000 feet on a hot day speaks to there credibility. Stick that next to a TRD S/C truck at that altitude and any non boosted truck will look look a snail, V6 or V8 and with whatever gears. There's simply to much power lost at the altitude and temperature without boost for good runs.

Are you saying that the 2.7 will not maintain highway speed?

2.7 owners are getting so defensive about their engine capabilities...

In my book, trucks aren't meant to be fast. They're meant to work.
