Is this a good idea to lift with a 1" shackle plus 1" block? Dont want to use any leafs as I dont want it stiff. Or is a 2" shackle by itself better? All toytec products.

Thanks in advance I couldn't find anything about this combo by searching.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Why not new leafs?

Unless you've got a really low mileage, garage kept specimen, I'm sure your current leaf springs are flat and stiff enough as it is.

New leafs will give you the height you're looking for.

Shocks provide the damping you seem to want by your "don't want it stiff" comment; could turn that into a joke but rather not :anonymous:

Stock leafs only have a few thousand miles on it since I warrantied it. I dont tow or load. Not a sag question more of a lift question. Hope that it clarifies the question more.

Stay away from blocks. Shackles or leafs.
    Good luck.

1 inch blocks on the rear are fine. You can research an “add a leaf” (AAL).

You would be fine with this setup. Ignore the naysayers.

I do understand the pros and cons of each. Just wondering since many say 1" blocks are fine but what if you add a 1" shackle lift to it to make it 2".

Also I do prefer shackles since it maintains the ride quality but the only issue with it I noticed is it tends to expose itself more in our models. Showing below the bed pretty obviously.

The combo. The only issue you may run into is the passenger leaf springs may rub your tailpipe if its in the stock location. And the shackle doesnt really hang down too far. This was mine when I ran a lift shackle. 0330180931-1.jpg
You can see it some, but its not that bad imo.

I actually have the toytec 1" shackle on right now. Looks a bit like yours. Is yours 1"? I'm guessing it would show more using the 1.5-2" setting like another members own I saw here. I'd probably run the emu drop bracket to fix the exhaust part.

That was the maxtrac adjustable shackle. I had it set for 1.5", although it really only gave .75" at best. Imo, they arent the best way to get lift as they put more stress on the springs and has a higher chance for axle wrap. I swapped it for a 2" add a leaf, which you should really consider. The ride is not stiff like everyone claims it is. Its firm, but by no means harsh.

I was thinking aal if there's a 1" and keep my 1" shackle to make it 2. Wheelers say it should be ok 2 or under. They say the pinion angle issue is more of a 2nd gen up issue as our driveline measurements or geometry is better or something.

I had some nasty vibes after installing my 2" spring. 3 degree shims took care of it. Im actually gonna swap my 2" spring with a wheelers 1.5" sometime in the next few days to get my truck to sit more level. As im im only at 1 & 5/8" of lift up front, so I have some rake.

Which is the best ride 1.5 aal?
I'm wondering is there certain lift scenarios that cause the vibes. Like too much front or rear rake or height or parts used. Wondering if there is a formula that causes it. I see some high lifts where I am for 1st gen. Noone ever seems to talk about vibes here. Almost 80% of the trucks or SUVs are lifted here. It's a popular thing to lift everything that can be lifted.

    TRD,
I have 5” of lift in the rear, zero vibes, zero lift blocks and zero shims.
I do have Deaver leafs and a pair of AllPro shackles.
The leafs are soft so I added a BudBuilt track bar. Zero axle wrap now.
    Good luck.

How did you get 5" of lift? What's your exact setup?

Wish there is a sure shot way of lifting, no stiffness, and no cons.

Adding a shim to any amount of lift is never a bad idea. Just keep it at or below 3 degree and it wont do anything bad. And really, shimming should be done with any amount of lift, as the pinion angle is being changed. Some get vibes, some dont. Best way to prevent any vibes and have peace of mind is just to install shims at the same time you install your lift.

I assume to some extent the shims also add lift?
