Hey guys I’m currently running a 2017 SR5 DCSB on stock suspension. What equipment (preferably budget friendly) would you guys recommend if I wanted a 1 inch lift in the front while keeping a neutral to slightly positive rake? Would bilstein 5100s be my best bet?

5100’s will be great. You won’t have much rake. Stock these truckS are 1.5” to 1”5/8 stock rake.

Pass on the spacers. Go 5100’s all around won’t disappoint for a good set up. Budget friendly as well. Also Eibach great kit. Mild off-roading and camping etc. will be great. Lots of members running these set ups.

Have you considered installing larger tires, e.g. 255/85R16? Those will raise the whole truck 1".

While these are a great tire size for getting more ground clearance overall, the OP seems to want to only lift the front to look more level as a looks thing.

One more thing... if I wanted to go with the 1.1 inch setting in the front and keep a slight positive rake, would an AAL be my only option? Seems like that would add 1.5 inches in the rear which would make the rake more positive than it already is stock. Trying to stay away from blocks.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
i know you dont want blocks- but toytec makes a 1/2” “shim” basically a half inch block that gets thru bolted to your leaf pack. that would get the rear up alittle and have none of the ill effects of bigger blocks. it’s an option.
you could do the same thing with an old set of overloads (not the ones you have but and additional set)- just cut them down with a chop saw. that would be a free option.

Cheapest option is a spacer up front. More expensive option is new struts/springs such as Bilstein 5100's or coilovers such as Eibach's etc. Also factor in the cost of an alignment etc. I would do it right. Buy once, cry once!

Factory rake on these trucks is like 1.5” - 1.5/8”. Lift front and back equal you will be close to factory rake.

If you want to use an AAL and don't haul heavy weight you can take the Over Load Leaf out of the pack when you put the AAL in.

Could you link me to the shim? Can’t seem to find it. Will it have any detrimental effect on my drivetrain while off-roading like I’ve read about?

problem is if I raise the front 1.1” and add a leaf (+1.5”) it will increase the rake by ~0.4” on top of the 1.5” stock rake theoretically.

Just a Snug Top with Sportsman’s package 1 inch lift and 265/75-16 Duratracs.
Mind posting a few different angles of your truck when you get a chance? I’m looking to just bump my truck 1-1.5 inches and go 265/75-16 for my next set of tires.

I can’t figure out how I want to approach a small lift. My truck almost sits level completely stock but with my Snugtop that has the reinforced sportsman package. Not sure how much it weighs but I’m guessing 200 pounds. Even though I fill up my truck with camping stuff, kid stuff and a huge dog I never really “haul” or tow with it. I’m thinking an AAL might be nice for a little additional capacity if I’m lugging around my rooftop tent and the dual sport on my hitch carrier.

You could also do Icon progre
no problem. I will. Also you could also do a icon progressive aal. I went with aal with my long bed. Works fine for me. Not a stiff ride at all. I’ll post pics soon for you.
