Hey I accidentally bought a gentex mirror with a 12 pin connector but thankfully I have a wiring diagram.

Anyone have the wiring colour codes or potions for the factory harness? I think I’ll just wire the 14 pin into the 12 pin to make it all work. Anyone have the diagram? I can’t seem to find it on here just lots of mod postings for aftermarket etc

the only thing I have is the wires from the tailgate to the plug under the dash, I ran mine to my aftermarket radio a few years ago.
    hope it helps.

Thanks. I can’t figure it out all I know is now I must have blown a fuse or something cause I have a bunch of lights on and I wasn’t able to get it wired properly. I’m not sure what I messed up but this may be above my head.

Wasn’t your diagrams fault I just picked the wrong wires and I couldn’t sort em out. I hate electric work

    I found some more pics,
this one below is the plug, the one that comes from the camera and under the dash

since I had no interest in getting the signal up to the rearview mirror, I pushed the pins out and ended up soldering on a RCA Jack for the video, and some extensions for the power. IIRC the Camera needs 6V, so I bought a cheap 6V regulator from Ebay, soldered it up and taped it to the fuse box. The power is taken from a fuse that comes on with Ignition. Yes the camera is always powered on when the truck is running, ( 2 + Years, and no issues yet )

Below is the ebay voltage regulator. its the bare circuit board hanging down a bit. You can see the Black and Red wires coming out of it, that's **going to** the camera.
the other two wires above it ( red and white ) are the camera + and - and they go to my head unit.

not sure if this helps, but hopefully it does ( or at least helps some one )

So can I just run from that point at the fuse box straight to the head unit? I have the camera in the tailgate but I don't have the mirror display and I think the wire is run up behind the headliner. I don't want to pull the headliner if I don't have to. I'm wanting to put in a new head unit that can utilize the camera.

    you can,
but remember the factory camera only requires 6V, Most aftermarket head units supply 12V of power.
you may have to google weather or not the factory camera can take 12V, but I just used a buck converter that took 12V and dropped it to 6V

Hi Jimmy Earl; you shouldn't have to pull the headliner, you can just run the cable up the left side behind the Pillar Trim which pops off fairly easily (you can google how to do that). Once up to the top of the side pillar you can simply tuck the wire behind the headliner as it meets the windshield - that pulls down nearly an inch to leave room to tuck in the cable. I then used some zip ties to lightly secure the cable along the way that went to a monitor that fit over the rear view mirror to allow me to see the road (and traffic!) behind a 19' travel trailer I was towing.

Along these lines though, I also have a second low mounted camera on the trailer that I have plugged into the Entune display via an aftermarket AV Video Audio Cable. This adds some options to the menu on the display including an A/V option which then displays that secondary camera view in selectable format on the Entune. The only problem is that the Entune display automatically switches back to the OEM tailgate mounted camera when I go into reverse. I need to have a way to switch from using the truck OEM camera to the secondary trailer camera when it's there, and I go into reverse. I don't need to deal with switching the power to the cameras, only the video signal from them. I'm not sure where (or how) to best do that to avoid introducing noise into the video feed, including for when the trailer (and thus secondary camera) isn't attached.
Any suggestions on what wire(s) and where to insert a switch into the feed?

Sorry, voltage regulator. Factory cameras are 6v(I believe). I don’t have the in mirror display, just an aftermarket head unit. From what I understand I should be supplying 12v+ from ACC(for on demand use) to 6v regulator to BLACK 6v+. Same with 12V- to 6v-. From the RCA it should be CORE to RED CV+. RCA SHIELD to WHITE CV-. And if I’m correct by using an ACC power supply I can tie in my head units reverse trigger wire to the backup lamps to retain auto-launch of the rear view screen ? Apologies if it sounds dumb
