The truck drives pretty normal for now but i got a trouble light...
P2440 is what the UltraGauge says.
Is this a sensor or a part or other ? Where on the truck does it go ?
If you have a 2nd gen 2.7 and have experienced this please let me know how it got resolved and the cost.

That code is typically caused by the Secondary Air Injection Switching Valve being stuck open, the easiest way to check it is to pull the hose off, start the engine, and check if exhaust is coming out of the port where the hose connects. If it is the valve is bad.

Awsome. So my potencial bad part is in part circled in red ??
Presumably the valve is stuck open. At 215k would it be just the same if I replaced the valve assembly where the stuck valve is housed ??

    Yes.

It's only serviced as an assembly, some people have had some success taking them apart and cleaning them but it may or may not fix it.
@hewitt-tech makes a kit to eliminate the SAIS but technically it's for offroad vehicles only.

    I am getting P24440 on my 2008 2.7L

I just took off the hose at the valve and am not getting any exhaust coming out. Should I look at something else? Thanks

P2440 is a valve stuck open code. This can happen when the valve itself is closed and leaking exhaust or when the system tries to run and the air pump is not strong enough to push air into the exhuast. Instead the exhaust flows backwards through the valve when it is open. The valves can be functioning fine and it is the air pump causing it. This is why Toyota will only replace the whole system because one thing can look like another and the air pumps can send debris through the system and valves. We no longer offer the Gen1 kits for the 2.7L.

Make sure the small hose between the valve and pressure sensor is connected and not deteriorated.
