You seem like you have a good sense of humor and not overly sensitive. That being the case, I know one thread here that would welcome you and your truck with open arms: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/roast-my-tacoma-2nd-gen-edition.656307/

I think it's ridiculous, but hey, you do you! At the end of the day it's YOUR truck, so as long as you're not doing anything unsafe (e.g. Carolina squat)... send it!

Lol thank you for finding me a place i can go to be accepted here on tacomaworld. And ya man I don't really take the comments personally. No point in that though as I really don't post to gain recognition or praise as much as i enjoy documenting the work I've done to this truck. I run my own show on this forum and that's all im doing:) not gonna hurt my feelings if the others don't like it. They all probably still run 9 wides anyway;)

Thank you lol, and ya no not squatting it out. Im not really into that. Im not opposed to the truck sitting slightly lower in the rear, but not at all into that other look.

is that like trying to say your blow up doll has nice boobs

big tires air down for traction and make bumps smoother
But since the goal here is to keep normal people, jobs hiring looking at what you pull up in, and girls away
Not gonna lie I’m jealous of how good of an entrepreneur you must be

me on the other hand as a regular guy if I pulled up in this my job would probably call the cops to put me in a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold

I’m sure 24’s on profile tires, locked, did great on Black Bear Pass
Pencil thin shocks without a reservoir is some real high end shit

it would be actually impressive if you fit 35, 37, or 40” tires
but not everybody tries to be impressive

Depends on where you work I guess. I have a friend that used to drive an old Crown Vic with a full green/black/purple graffiti paint job, a purple shag interior, with a lift and M/Ts to work at the FAA. He got some looks, but most people thought it was awesome and/or hilarious.

Nope that’s just stating facts brah lol. When the 24s come off and the swampers go on I’m walkin past ya on the trail lol.

idk where the airing tires down came from but ya I think everyone knows that it provides you with a wider footprint and better traction.

And as far as girls go— never had a problem there lol;)

And who says you need high end shocks to wheel good lol? I’m a full time student paying the majority of my tuition and still making things happen so I’m not worried about having the best stuff. If I was I wouldn’t have a rough country lift lol.

And idk where you work but it sounds like your works got a pretty good grip on ur nutsack if it’s got you worried about what you drive lol.

And I’m not gona try to fit 35s on the truck.. they already fit. Does that impress you lol? Good cause I really don’t gaf if it does sir:luvya:

Couple pics of some of the action I got into for the 2hrs I had before I called it.

got a new knuckle fitted with a wheel bearing and got the old strut out. Took a couple pics for the hell of it.

1st pic: stock knuckle, there’s a seal in there that I was actually able to just pull out the other side by hand, wasn’t in very tight at all. But I just transferred it over to the new knuckle along with the wheel bearing and dust shield.

2nd pic: new strut vs the old. Honestly the bilstein shocks are still in great condition and are way better quality imo than the rough country struts. But my plan is to get myself some nicer struts down the road. The difference in length between each struts are:

    • bilstein 5100 set to the tallest clip setting + 1/2” top spacer= 24”

    • 6” n3 rough country strut= 27.75”

hoping to get a full 3” more of lift. Doesn’t look like I’m gona be able to use the 1/2” top spacer on the n3 (wish I could;) ) but I’d have to compress the spring and throw some longer strut lug deals in at the top cause as it is the spacer would eat up all of the new struts threads and the bolt won’t have anything to screw onto..

Wish ida got a pic of the new knuckle setup but it’s all good get it another day.

I’m excited to see it, different is good among all the same (albeit fantastic) builds. As long as it’s done safely right? Looks like you’re giving it a proper go.

Tore down the other side this evening. Saved the lower control arms for last though. The bolts are coming out but I’m a little worried about the sleeves that go around the bolts being hung up. I saved that headache for another day though

Came home after a long headache inducing day of studying and decided to have a go with removing the passenger side lower control arm. So glad i made the purchase of an air hammer when i installed my 5.29s. It came in EXTREMELY handy when removing the adjuster cams on the lower control arms.

But.. as i suspected, the sleeve from the front end mount of the lower control arm was seized in the bushing. And boy let me tell you... that muthrfqur wouldnt even come out with my hydraulic press. I mean-- it did, but the bushing ripped out with it. I tried heating it, applied penetrant several times over the course of 3-4 days and still.. i tried using a mini sledge hammer and a punch, my air hammer (thing is so legit), a torch to hopefully persuade the sleeve to let go.. but the sob wouldn't come out so i destroyed the bushing and got it out anyways because i developed a grudge against it and then accepted my fate and ordered a couple of lower control arms from rock auto and saved like $120 as opposed to buying them from my local parts store. They said they won't be here until the 24th (another 10 days) but hopefully they'll show up sooner cause im tryna get the lift done. And its not even a tough install just slightly time consuming. after i get the lower control arms there shouldn't be any hang ups though. But its always something lol.

Back to homework for now but i'll report back on any advances I've made on things.

Hopefully you can squeeze some sleep in there too!

While I didn’t have issues removing the cams because we don’t really have rust here, I did replace my bushings.
I did it wrong the first time and had to order a new set and it sucked removing the bad one and re-installing the the new ones so much.

I wish I would have just ordered complete LCAs like you did.

well if ya ever do, rock auto had them much cheaper than my local parts store. if money wasn't so tight right now id have just grabbed em here but. were talking 120 bucks cheaper and idk i got the mevotech ones. had a limited lifetime that stuck with the original purchaser.
