I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. Would an 01-04 front bumper be able to fit on a 99? Has anyway done it without swapping the whole front end? I want to do this to my girlfriends truck because the newer style bumper has a thin solid piece at the top of the bumper and would just take the below plastic part off.

Thanks and sorry if I'm the noob this time and couldn't find the thread when I searched. If you could provide a link, that would be nice too. :D

I found this, but does not say if the bolts line up. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/41196-01-04-bumper-99-a.html

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I think the bumper mounts have to be modified. I know the guys with the 00 and earlier buying the Elite front bumpers have to modify the frame buy cutting a little off.

ya the 98-00 has frame horns that stick out instead of two flat surfaces with bolt holes. the mounts on the side would be the same depending how the bumper bolts up to the 01-04. only thing you'll have to do most likely is cut off the frame horns and have a plate welded to the end with a nut on the back side, that will make the frame the same as an 01-04
