    Here’s what I did.
    -Oil change
    -rear diff fluid change
    -throttle body cleaning
    -maf cleaning
I now have a check engine light and trac off light showing up.
I already disconnected the battery and reset the truck but the lights came back on. I’ve also checked the gas cap to see if it’s loose.

    Update...
    At the dealer
    Code found: P2441

Did you touch the sensor to the maf while cleaning it?
And also go get the code read for the CEL

I had those exact same 2 lights come on in my truck the day after I bought it (new). They had to replace the ECM. It was bad. I would take it to the dealer if it is still under warranty.

I did get an 8 year 100k warranty for my troubles, though.

Get the code read and find out where the trouble area is. So far we have nothing to go on.

Loose or bad gas cap,you then have too clear the code afterwards to make the light go out.Autozone will read and or clear the codes for free.

Call the dealer and ask of they already know about this. Ask if it is covered under warranty

The thread listed above had references to how this part is changed.

Did you check with having it repaired under warranty?

truck is at the dealer as of now. I was hoping to not have to read through 23 pages of reply’s. I was just looking for some direct info about my code. I might be using the forum wrong tho.

If it does turn out to be the infamous air injection valve/pump issue the linked post refers to - I know it's been a serious plague for the 2012's, although there have been reports of other 2nd gens having the issue. People came up with a number of work arounds, one being a bypass, another being replacement with Tundra valves. In January, Toyota finally acknowledged the problem and offered extended coverage for that issue. I'm not 100% sure if Toyota is covering it for all 2nd gens now, or just the 2012 models. I finally received a letter explaining the coverage a few weeks ago. Ironically I popped the codes Sunday night. Brought it to the dealer and they confirmed and ordered the parts. I believe they replace the valves, pump and pump cover. That's the short version of that thread.

Also - When I brought it to the dealer, I was in limp mode with the trac and CEL on. I left it that way so they'd see it. They pulled it into the bay and about an hour later came out telling me they were ordering the parts.

Thanks for the info. That was thorough.
Got my truck back after the dealer kept it over night. They didn’t know why the secondary air pump stopped working. They cleared the code, “activated” the air pump and told me it was good.

I for some reason think I will be back very shortly with the same problem.

The dealer cleared my codes Monday. It hasn’t re-tripped, but my parts came in and they’ll be replaced tomorrow. I know people have gone a variable length of time between having it re-trip. I’ll find my letter tomorrow and see if they specify the 2012 model year.
