Locking tonneau Cover for '25 short bed?

Y'all - we just bought a '25 Tacoma and realized AFTER the purchase it does NOT come with a locking tailgate (SR5 trim package). My husband uses this for work and needs to secure work equipment in a covered bed. A lot of the tonneau covers we are seeing rely on the OEM vehicle tailgate lock for security. So, we are looking at the following options:

1. Add lock to tailgate handle after market - not so straight forward given backup camera and new style change that will take after-market manufacturers time to release products for, OR

2. Find a cargo cover that has a lock that will secure both the tailgate and cover (like we have on our '15 Tacoma). We are finding this difficult to find.

We're a bit stuck at the moment, so hoping somebody here can share thoughts to get us past this problem.

 

Lowest cost solution might be to either swap out tailgate with a trim or handle that locks.

Or do something like putting a barrel both on either side of the tailgate on the inside where that seat into each side. Then get a tonneau like Roll-n-Lock that can key lock to it's rail system.
