I haven’t had flank steak in a minute. Might need to do that this week. Toss it in a gallon ziplock with some yoshidas, rippin hot grill two minutes a side. Mmmmmm. very underrated meat. Almost 70 on this side of the state today

This link just reminded me of what my brothers did during Hurricane Helene last fall. They live about an hour south of Asheville North Carolina and his area got tore up pretty bad as well from all the high winds and rain. They had no power for 5 days and his frig was stocked with meat that was about to go bad so he had a "Meat Party" and everything they could cook went on the grill and they ate all they could and then had the neighbors joining in before they had to throw the rest out. Fortunately my brother had a small camper with a generator that they used for power until the electric came back on. I was down there at the end of October and couldn't believe the number of homes that were damaged and trees were still down. His area was spared what Asheville went through. Another family member in Henderson got through the storm alright but has to wade through a creek to get to his condo from the main road after that because the bridge was gone.

I'll butcher the quote, but James May: "People cook so they have something to do while they drink wine".

Reminds me of my favorite car parking spot I've ever seen.

I can just imagine getting out and forgetting that there's a drop into the abyss out my driver's door.
