Thats the frame inside the driver’s side rear wheel well next to the gas tank. So they welded that in there, next to a PLASTIC GAS TANK.
some people maybe, but that wont pass inspection anywhere that i know of

For something clapped the Hell out? Yea. But in inspection states there isn't as much of that going around. In my county in PA there's no emissions and there is shops that will literally just slap a sticker on it if you hand the guy a tip to buy lunch. Not that I have ever done something like that...

Maryland is inspected once on initial registration and never again. Just yearly emissions. I've seen trucks with broken frames driving around like nothing. As long as it passes that emissions test nobody cares.

I just think it’s obscene that somebody would have the balls to sell that truck when literally that frame would probably snap in half if hitting a bad bump let alone getting into an accident.

I remember during the wildly successful cash for clunkers they were destroying perfectly good trucks with perfectly good frames in the south and this apparently passes inspection...

Oh that thing doesn't pass a legit inspection anywhere. Now, Joe's Uncle Brothers Sticker Slap Service of Breezewood, PA (not actually a real shop) will. There are legit places for frame repair in my area that will pass an inspection afterwards. But you will be spending some cash. Just the way of life in the Northeast. Typically once a vehicle hits 10-12 years old it's done for. Engine and transmission is good, but the body eat up. Getting worse now that they're using the liquid stuff.

The western three counties have no emissions.

Hmm, that I did not know. I've only been in/through Washington and Fredrick counties. I work in Washington Co so I see lots of the junk of the roads

Californians don’t understand how good you have it out here. The Northeast winters destroy vehicles. Nothing you can do about it if you actually drive the thing.

Come take a look at my crusty East coast transplant DD vs my mostly west coast truck. Literally had a pile of rust on the ground under the DD. And it is fairly clean.
The trick is to drive it out to the West Coast and sell it

My buddy sent me a video from my old car. Apparently two bolts rusted through and a panel on the underside was flapping around. While I still owned it, two studs broke in half pulling a rim. Then a bolt on the rotor required fire... man I miss that thing.

yes, I disclosed the vehicles heritage and adjusted price accordingly

I'm an Ohioan in the market for a second taco and can't really even look at dealerships anymore. Prices are sky high for complete junk and no one at these places cares at all. I wish they all posted pics of the frames online so people don't waste their time driving to see rot. They need to be more honest to get my business. I'm much happier looking at trucks on here or other private sellers.

I think it should be mandatory to show pics of the frame. I look online at Tacoma Prices quite often, and none of the Trucks for sale ever show the frame. Like you said, you drive 3 or 4-5 hours to see something like the truck above with a frame that wouldn't hold shit in the bed. I don't understand how that can even be legal for a dealership to sell a vehicle in that poor of shape.

Finding a virgin to mary is probably easier than finding a good used Tacoma in the rust belt.

I have one winter ride. Nothing else see's the light of day once the first snowflake trudges it's way to the earth on it's meandering path. They come out only after it's warmed up and heavy rains wash the last vestiges of salty destruction back into the earth from whence it came. For the winter ride, LPS 3 and Fluid Film are my go to and applied underneath and inside all the doors.
