409 will probably withstand the environments better than factory. Plus, it’s cheaper so why not.

It's 409. 409 is designed to "rust" in pretty much all applications which is to say it will eventually rust wherever you live.

Ended up going with the Magnaflow system plus new OE muffler/OE bolts/OE gaskets.

Does that have a rust out warranty such as the borla million mile warranty has

I have noticed the borla cat back piping on my taco has discoloured some but no idea if that is rust or a different type of rust, it is sorta reddish in colour
    What is yours looking like?

Magnaflow does not have a warranty like my Borla system (wish Borla had a Yaris system for my girl). Discolored (Borla) here too, but you can get it off with polish if you wanted too. Don't think I've ever seen a Borla system rust either.

    Got this from Magnaflow:
"Magnaflow uses 409 grade automotive stainless steel. This particular grade of stainless has the tendency to form a protective layer of surface rust in wet/humid/snowy climates or when exposed to salted roads. This layer is superficial and will not penetrate the metal itself. It can be removed using soap and water and a steel Brillo or S.O.S pad. In the rare event that 409 stainless steel pipes become rusted through, Magnaflow's lifetime warranty will cover replacement."
