I have a coolant temp sensor and transmission temp sensor both in range and okay. Truck is stumbling and bogging down from the start, started noticing it yesterday, rn I tried going over a hill on the fwy and couldnt max i got to was 38mph and I exited and before I could park in a parking lot she died. Rn I’m cleaning the maf sensor, air filter looks good. I put a fuel system cleaner before heading out.

That sure is a strange sound, I wonder if the sound is possibly traveling into the exhaust

sorry about your situation, what a drag!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
IMO, replace the valve cover but more importantly the spark plug tube seals, asap. Good luck!IMG_0449.png

Never heard anything like that but does seem to be coming from inside the exhaust. Try removing your downpipe when it's cold (O2 sensors will not be enabled for a couple mins), see if it still happens

To get you off shoulder of freeway

    If u have tools

unbolt the header/downpipe b4 the cat

That will release the pressure of the clogged/rattling CAT

then can drive with open header to get to safer place

Sounds like the cat broke apart internally. If the chunk blocks the exhaust it'll run like crap, it may also move and free up the exhaust and run fine until it plugs it again.

    Been there, done that.

I think youre right. After the rattling in the cat the truck was driveable and felt normal again and I drove home. I will deff be changing the cat tomorrow. I’m just glad it was the cat and not my engine or tranny as I have taken care of both for years doing the preventative maintenance.

Sorry, I missed the part where you were actually stalled on the side of a road. I was mainly looking into symptoms and wondering if your fuel filter was keeping you from accelerating. Glad you were able to get home safely and also figured out what the problem was!
