I own a 2004 Tacoma Pre-runner, 2WD is all original, OEM everything except for the wheels, the wheels are 17" w/6holes "take-offs" from a Tundra. I've always Intended to upgrade to Tundra size disk and rotors brakes, been saving my $$.. NOW is the time to do it!
I hope to get some good advice and referrals from friends here @ TW.

I will buy new manufacturers pads and rotors providing the install is hassle free, want to use my existing brake lines to the new calipers if possible! I would prefer Not to Modify the existing brake lines, if possible, I intend to flush the braking system from the MC to the calipers,
and install new hoses to the calipers. Part #s and brands will be helpful.

I will buy Re-Mans for Name brands and Quality Grantee if they have the same or similar Specs as above. I'm aware there are 2 kits to choose from I would prefer the larger dia. & thicker rotor disk

Thank you in advance for your advise and suggestions, and help!

Quick note on pads and rotors, take a look at pairing -

    Akebono pads and Brembo rotors

both are OEM suppliers. Been running this combo up front for several years now, love em.

For the rear, suggest sticking with toyota OE.

Thanks I presume these can be ordered thru NAPA? What about the Calipers, OEM Tundra or another direction?

Do the brake line require a modification in order to use the caliper?

Yes, this is what I used for my 2003 4x4 (your Prerunner has the same front components). My cost in the end was around $500 back in 2018. You don't need 17" wheels to clear these brakes, as I still had the original 16" alloys that came on my TRD OffRoad.

Here's my parts list from Napa:
    • NAPA Brake Caliper, Brake Caliper w/ Hardware - Right Front (Eclipse Semi-Loaded) - Remfd, PART # :CAL SE3264
    • NAPA Brake Caliper, Brake Caliper w/ Hardware - Left Front (Eclipse Semi-Loaded) - Remfd, PART # :CAL SE3263

    Additional parts:
    • EBC Brakes DP71657 7000 Series Greenstuff SUV Supreme Compound Brake Pad
    • StopTech Brake Rotors - Sport Slotted (126.44118SL) (2003 Tundra)
    • StopTech Brake Rotors - Sport Slotted (126.44118SR) (2003 Tundra)
    • 32oz DOT3 Prestone Brake fluid; brake cleaner
    • 2 feet of 5/16" PVC hose for bleeding the brakes

I would change the lines just for the reason they are 20 yrs. old.

agreed. I got lucky with new banjo bolts and new extended Tacoma lines, but so many people had issues.

I bought the tundra hard lines that @turbodb sells (sold), but didn’t end up installing before I sold the truck.

I DEFINITLY WILL CHANGE THE HARD LINES AND FLEX HOSES, as Mr. Bisquit pointed out 20yr. old I WANT TO/NEED TO CHANGE THE BANJO BOLTS..I HAVE READ SEVERAL POSTS on TW WHERE THE INSTALLER USED A 1/4 DRILL TO ENLARGE THE HOLE! I WOULD PREFER TO INSTALL NEW ONES AS THEY ARE THE CORRECT OEM,,

QUICK QUESTION: I will order banjo bolts that fit the Tundra Calipers?...RIGHT? sounds correct to me

Use the hard line option to connect to the Tundra calipers, not the banjo bolt option.

The Tundra does not use a banjo bolt.

I followed the banjo bolt mod 4 years ago, no issues since. However I have purchased the hardline kit and will install it soon.
