At least C7 had a manual transmission option. C8s are Auto only.

People buy long beds and extend cab trucks. I don't know why anyone would prefer a short bed double cab over a long bed. Most truck buyers are not going off road.

It definitely looks better. But what are the prices of these different configurations?

    Stay tuned…

I like the competition. It helps to push Toyota to innovate and improve on the Tacoma. I love my 3rd gen but honesty the engine output and transmission is a bit lacking

Toyota won't even look into reengineering their cab mount locations. This is a known problem since first gens! :(

That's the truth! Just look at the transition from 2nd to 3rd gen....complete disaster

So you saw a vehicle made from 2006-2011 (so it's anywhere between 11 & 16 years old) and it had a faulty taillight? You don't say...

So your argument for global LB demand, is based entirely on a weekend visit to your local dealer? Sounds legit....

because the long bed is only a small truck inside the cab, might as well go full size and get a bit more comfy if youre willing to swing out wide to get into a parking stall.

Lol. And it’s 3rd brake light was partially out. I see your point, but gm vehicles seem to have quite a few light bulbs issues. With really nice engines.

don't pretend GM are some business masterminds. They went bankrupt and should have gone out of business, but the US bailed them out with 11 billion dollars that will never be repaid

Couldn’t agree more. And what purpose does that crap serve. I have a new Tacoma on the way to hopefully avoid the problems I’ve had with all this new crap and especially gm. Damn electric parking brake, electric power steering, shit transmissions, electrical gremlins in general, etc. been talking to folks lately, and regardless of what brands they prefer, no one has told me they have had a model since late 90’s - early 2000’s that was a better vehicle than the previous. This country has sold its soul. Used to be, wanted more power, drop in a bigger engine. Now all this turbo horse shit ? Did we join the EU ?

Calm down, my point is that if it were in demand and the demand offset the cost they would make it. For GM they are simply not in demand enough to offer it. It is stats and how large corporations run. I am sorry you do not care for the decision but just because it does not agree with you does not make it less real.

LOL, literally everything you mention here functions for me flawlessly everyday. And might I say is a joy to drive. I even like the electric parking brake.

If my memory serves, it was the unions that refused to restructure that was the catalyst behind the implosion of the auto industry. In addition, much like the Housing collapse of 2009 when the government bailout to the banks was completely paid back under the TARP program....GM paid back everything as well.

I know you all love your Tacoma's. BUT... As someone who still likes Toyota, just go drive something a little more out of the box. Its like exhaling after holding your breath for hours and you think. Man, this is just so much more enjoyable.

Great question, and I am unqualified to speak to “global” truck demands. But my routine usually has me interacting with numerous Toyota dealers throughout Texas and Oklahoma weekly
