You probably could have made a few bucks on TW by trading that scoop hood and honeycomb grille.

I had a hard time thinking i would ever own a Chevrolet truck but ended up in a ZR2 diesel and can’t stop telling ppl how happy i am with it! They’re doing a nice job with their full size trucks, hope you enjoy it OP.

Had to upgrade the Tacoma because a bigger fam and trailer was needed. Picked up the GMC in June and brought this trailer back from Spokane over the weekend. The trailer is a 29' Bunnkhouse and weighs in at 6500 dry with a hitch weight of ~750. Tows great! So far on the AT4 I have leveled, tinted, in channel visors and airbags. (only 5psi in the bags in the pic) Debating on wheels/tires now..

2nd battery added(yellow top), big 3 upgrade completed w/ofhc 0awg, 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter added, medical oxygen system added, led marker lights. 60% rear seat deleted. Upgraded both battery terminals. Yellow top primary battery. 200Amp Alternator upgrade.
Good luck with oil consumption on the gmc.

Why do people bother posting dumb comments like this? No truck is without it's issues. Why even bring it up?

Nice truck OP. If I were buying a full size this is what I would buy.

Congratulations on the purchase. Looks like it’s gonna suit your needs well.

I know the feeling of growing attached to a vehicle, and the heartache of seeing it go. Then there’s the ones you’re glad to be rid of, like a bad girlfriend.

I do like the cool tailgate the gmc has. But I suspect zero emissions will arrive before we see them on other trucks.

For me, a Tacoma is bigger than what I really need. I had a 96 Nissan pickup that was just right, until I tboned a red light runner.

My neighbor who owns a remodeling business went from tundra to tundra to tundra to gmc. I don’t know what trim package or power train he has but he regrets it. Said the tundra had no issues, the gmc is having issues carrying towing the weight he needs to.

I'm a Toyota fan for life, I've owned three of their vehicles and had great luck with two. My wife's Prius started eating oil at an alarming rate after 100k miles. In searching for trucks I visited every lot in the northern Seattle area. My takeaway was that there are a lot of lightly used Tundra's and F150's on the market. the Ford makes sense because they sell so many of the damn things. The first truck I really liked as a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro. Pretty spartan on the inside and very clearly outdated in all aspects but the biggest for me was the motor. Way less HP and Toruqe with significantly less MPG that any other newer powertrain.

I'm not sure what model etc. he had but there are alot of engine options with the GMC/Chevy. Mine is the 6.2. From what I see and read GMC wants to be realistic with their towing capability. Ford loves to throw huge numbers at their payload/towing capacities. My AT4 is rated for 9k towing lower than the non-AT4 because of the lift and suspension setup. I just towed the trailer above from Post Falls, ID to Lake Stevens, WA. ~330 miles over a mountain pass. it weighs 6500 dry and has a tongue weight of 750 with the batteries and filled tanks it's higher. The truck was amazing. I set the supercruise at 70-73 and unless I was really climbing never got above 2200 RPM. It would downshift to 3200 RPM at times heading up the pass. The transmission temp at all times was between 145 and 160. With the trailer hooked up I was 3/4" lower in the back. I installed airbags but did not use them on the maiden voyage, they were at 7psi.

Compared to the white knuckle voyage anytime I towed my 3500lb trailer with the Tacoma this was a breeze. The trailering tech on the GMC is best in class by far. Little things like the display showing the camera angle down the truck and trailer whenever use use a blinker is crazy and very helpful.

As I said when I bought the GMC... I love Toyota but when looking at similar MSRP's I didn't feel right missing out on that much with the Tundra.

4HI, 4LO and AWD or Auto 4wd which is fantastic, works great.
