    A big whats up from fort hood texas. I have had this truck since about April and have used this forum a couple times to look up some bolt ons and it has been very knowledgable. I have been wanting a tacoma for so long, but with many deployments and a lot of time away from home, it just wasn't possible. But now that I am retired I got the one I was after. Found the truck by total accident and waited two weeks after the first test drive to go back to the dealer and pull the trigger. It came with every option which was cool, no leather though which I am so glad its cloth! I am in love with this thing, best part was I got it for a great price and the graphics package is nice to look at( I would have been fine with a regular 4x4 model) but here she is. Just got done installing a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. Good screen for the money and I was able to retain my satellite radio and add navigation. Pretty sure in the spring I am going to be adding the factory supercharger and get a lift put on this fall. Cheers and stay frosty!

    How did you keep the satellite radio? Pretty much the only reason why I haven't changed the head unit. Well that and I want to keep the factory amp working too.

    @ls1 prerunner- the tuner for the satellite radio is by the kick panel. you will need to buy the Sirius XM
    $59 SXV300V1 SiriusXM Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner, Add to Any SiriusXM-Ready Car Stereo SXV300V1
    SXV300V1 and you can use the box from the new tuner to the factory antenna. In my case I did not have enough slack for the box to reach the radio as mine was in a different location, so i just removed the old antenna and replaced it with the new one. Mind you that if you do this then you will have a new radio i.d. and will have to transfer your service to the new tuner.Also when you get ready to remove the antenna there is a 19mm nut that secures it. Have some all weather epoxy ready so that the elements don't get inside the cab. hope this wasn't too confusing, but all in all I spent more time running the antenna (removing trim pieces and some of the headliner) than installing the actual head unit.

    Now it makes sense, I'm running the SXV200V1 on my daily driver actually. I just don't want to deal with the replacing of the antenna (as you noticed it is tedious) and having to transfer over the service on my Tacoma.

    Yea buddy. It was all pretty much simple removal of the trim pieces, but I was very cautious with the headliner. And the stock antenna Longer than the one provided with the aftermarket Sirius unit. But well worth it. You will just have to use some all weather epoxy to go around the edges of the antenna to ensure the cab stays dry. Just FYI on the pioneer. It was initially $329 through crutchfield.com but after going to best buy they matched the same unit at Walmart for $229. The pioneer for what it is and at the multitude of things it can do is a great value. Total cost of everything ran me about $375 and that's with a $40 4 year warranty on the pioneer included. Very happy with the whole setup. The navigation is the best. Stay Frosty my friend.
