The largest part of the lip is 1/2... the smallest is .46... using a 1/2 ID hose, you will need a clamp.... I have other 1/2 inch fittings that the smallest part is 1/2, thus a 1/2 ID hose fits snug...

I needed these to finish up a DIY coolant system relocation in my 07 BMW 335i. I went to Ace/Lowes/Menards/Fleet Farm and was unable to find this exact size fitting.

I gave up and just ordered and waited. They arrived and I was IMMEDIATELY able to finish the job. I cannot imagine a situation outside of user-error where they would have any issues.

I don’t know if there are any limitations to brass fittings, but it’s been 4 months since install into a hot turbo’s engine bay carrying hot coolant around and they have held up well. I have no doubt that they will continue to do so.
