1. Place your foot into the night splint, making sure the heel fits snug against the heel of the splint.

2. Attach the bottom strap and adjust until snug. The straps should be fed under the dorsi-flexion straps.

3. Continue by attaching the remaining 2 straps as described above. Adjust straps for tightness as needed.

Dorsi-Flexion Adjustment

How to Effectively use Your PF Night Splint

It will be best to wear the night splint for only 1 hour the first night, then extending it gradually each night. Our splints are adjustable, so you can alter the tension. You may need to start with it looser & tighten over time. The goal is to wear it overnight or for around 4 to 5 hours at a time.

Provides gentle stretching that helps reduce inflammation, muscle contracture and other associated pain

Wedge

Wedge Use & Adjustment

When you receive your plantar fasciitis night splint you will find a foam wedge attached to toe area of the night splint’s lightweight shell. The wedge can be adjusted or removed to increase or decrease the stretch of the calf and plantar fascia (dorsi-flexion).

Where Does the Wedge Go?

Step 1 Lift up the fabric pad at the toe area of the boot.
Step 2 Slide the wedge underneath and affix to the Velcro on the wedge to the Velcro on the bottom of the boot.

Dorsi-Flexion Adjustment

Un-attach the dorsi-flexion straps and simultaneously pull to adjust the dorsi-flexion to the desired level. If pain is experienced with the night splint in the resting position, the wedge can be removed from under the toe for less dorsi-flexion.

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain and certain foot pain. The plantar fascia is the ligament that connects your heel bone to your toes and supports the arch of your foot. If you strain or injure your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated which leads to inflammation. This trauma and inflammation causes heel, foot, and arch pain when you stand or walk. This pain can is often the worst in the morning after a night’s sleep.

Plantar fasciitis is most common among active men and woman who are on their feet a lot, folks who walk a lot, runners, and athletes. Occupations and activities that increase plantar fasciitis include nurses, military - soldiers, police officers, retail workers, running, walking, hiking, football, soccer, ballet, basketball, gymnastics, and more.

Almost too strong
I tried this on last night. It's very light weight and the straps hold your foot in really tight - too tight in fact. My calf muscle is sooo tight that I felt like this was almost too much. My foot started to tingle and I had to take it off. I think I'll try adjusting it so it's not so angled tonight. It's easy to move around in and very easy to put on.

Some days the Plantar fascitis moves up into the outer calf muscles. Then I put this beast on to retain my ankle angle to be less than 90 degrees and held solid through the night. Its a thick plastic mold like a baseball catchers shin protector and works as described in their sales pitch; you can't really walk on it. Be careful on linoleum and tile floors. I wear this when compression socks and soft retaining straps won't reach near the knee calf area. I'm glad I bought this because it works and I realized I only want to use it until the high calf symptoms are resolved. Be sure to use the included cushion to keep the mold from pressing on your foot, otherwise you'll awaken in pressure pain at the point of impact.

It's for my right drop foot and seems to be working fine plus I was able to put it on with one left hand with not a lot of problems. It's great for the money feel's comfortable. The weight is minimal and seems stable and good quality for the purpose of the night spint. Update with a few days of use. Delivery is before scheduled to arrive. 👍 It seems to be working after 3 days of 4-5 hours of use I have not been sleeping with it on yet, update after 3 days after receiving the night splint boot.

Works great!! A little clunky, but it does a great job keep your foot at 90 deg to keep your tendons from tightening. Also it doesn't cause foot pain like others I've tried. Last thing, the clips are great, you can get it adjusted how you want and they clip in and out. Quicker and less wear on the velcro. I have noticed an improvement in pain level through out the day.

Highly recommend.

I can't comment on longevity yet as I've only had it a month or so.

Love how comfortable this brace is and easy to put on. Definitely worth the money and I'm shocked how much better my foot feels after wearing it for one night
Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2024
I bought this night splint hoping that it would be a lighter and less bulky alternative to the walking boot that I have been using following foot surgery. While it is definitely lighter and less bulky, it is a total fail in all other regards. The design misses the most basic aspects of biomechanics, and it clearly did not go through any beta-testing with real users. The straps are designed to fit specific foot/leg profile only and cannot be either lengthened or shortened by more than an inch due to the placement of the velcro on the boot and the impossibility of getting the other end of the velcro through the belt buckle. This, in my case, leaves the straps loose and my foot and leg able to move, defeating the purpose of the splint. My heel continually rises from the bottom of the splint, causing the plantar flexion that the splint should prevent. The straps also place pressure on exactly the wrong place on the top of my midfoot, causing pain over the surgery site where bone fusion is ongoing. Finally, as other reviewers have mentioned, the placement of the strap buckles on the outside of the foot/ankle (when used on the R foot) requires that the user be a contortionist to get them buckled and unbuckled. A pre-market trial of this product with actual users would have identified this as a major problem and should have led to the realization that a simple pull-through adjustable velcro strap (like the one on walking boots) would have been a better design for a boot intended for use on either foot.
I am returning the product and will continue wearing my walking boot at night.

Two years ago, I bought two of these braces in an effort to deal with my terrible plantar fasciitis pain. I had tried all sorts of other products, and now in retrospect I can say that these things were one of the only really helpful purchases (along with some Birkenstocks, and some Hoka One One shoes with inexpensive arch-support insoles).

I wear the braces to bed each night, and as other reviews suggested, I criss-cross the bottom two straps so that my heel stays put more securely. The braces gently stretch my heels and prevent that shortening of the tendon that causes so much early morning heel pain! I know that they are continuing to help me a lot, because if I ever go a night without wearing them, the heel pain is back in the morning!

You would think that it would be hard to sleep in these, especially for someone like me who deals with insomnia, but you really do get used to it. Initially if I woke up in the night and felt uncomfortable I would take them off, but in only a few days I could sleep in them all night. If I do end up taking them off in the night, I put them back on in the morning BEFORE my feet touch the floor, and let my heels stretch for about 10 minutes before I get up, and that is helpful.

Don’t plan on doing any walking around in these—they’re not designed for that. I can manage to shuffle to the bathroom and back if I need to while wearing them, but that’s about it.

I think for the price these things are excellent, and they hold up well. I’ve been using mine every single night for almost two years, and they’re still sturdy and comfortable, and keeping my feet happy!

Got this for Achilles tendonitis from medical movement restriction, finally decided to buy something to help.

It's quite bulky, and awkward to set up, but after tinkering to get it just right. It's also super comfortable, lots of padding in the right places so your heel doesn't hurt when held in place. It was easy to overstretch/hurt my tendon, but it gave me full control over the amount of stretch it applies (night braces are supposed to stretch out the calf, so this was expected) and I loosened it until I was comfortable.

It's the first sleep I've had where my heel didn't hurt in 3 months.

The other products similar to this come from "brands" that only have one product, I don't trust their reviews and I don't trust the quality of their products either. So I decided to shell out for this since it's a company that makes multiple products like this and looks like it isn't just a ghost company importing stuff from who knows where. No regrets.
