So I actually bought this a few years ago. I put it on my duty AR. I really didn’t use it except once a year to qualify at the range. I keep the cover on to keep the glass from getting scratched. Recently I bought a new gun and it came with no sights. I took the riser off of this and placed it on that gun to try it out. The battery even after being in my car all this time is fine. After adjusting for windage and elevation it worked great on my new 10/22 charger. Playing with the adjustments was not too difficult after getting the caps off. Put the dot where you want the bullet to go and it was dead on even if I looked at it through weird angles.
I normally use iron sights but this convinced me to re-think that. I am considering putting this in my 22/45 next. Sight acquisition is faster the more you use it.
Long battery life. Ease of use and it has both the riser and low mount so can work with pistol or rifle. The price is right and even on low settings works outside in the sun.
Better than night sights in the house for home defense and you can shoot with both eyes open.
It’s durable. I had this mounted and banged around in my patrol car a lot. It still looks like new. And it functions flawlessly.
I will say this. It is designed by Sig Sauer but says right on the body of it made in china. Still what works, works.
