Product Description

ABS Plastic is though and non-shattering, making it an inexpensive alternative to Polycarbonate (Makrolon). It offers endless possibilities in your VEX robot design and is easy to work with. Sheets can be cut easily (even tin snips work well for small pieces) and can be cold-bent or heated and bent. Legal for use on competition robots: Rule R7f permits plastic from one 12x24x0.070" sheet. Includes three 12x24" (+/- 1/8") sheets of 0.056" Thick ABS Plastic. Black color, front has a "Haircell" pattern and the back is smooth.

Using this to repair a broken bottom of a motorcycle saddle bag that the bottom was completely broken out about a third of the way and cracked clear through. Corner tab was cracked so I reinforced that too. I used a MAP gas torch to heat the plastic to bending temp, overheated around the dimple cutout that caused some warping around the mounting dimple, but I was able to flatten it enough to glue just fine. Ordered a heat gun to replicate the other dimple that was broken out to prevent that. Made a paper template and cut it out with a good utility knife and scissors on the smaller pieces. Clamped between two pieces of scrap 1x8 for the larger bend. Used Otis ABS glue. This is the 1/16" plastic. I also bought some 1/8" that I'll glue in after I form the other dimple, then form it to match. I'll finish with one more layer of 1/16" on the inside. Likely be stronger than the original. Very happy. Good value. Bit of a learning curve with the heat forming but that's on me. Packed well and shipped quick.

Bought these sheets to make custom splash gaurds for my C7 ZO6 for the front of the rear wheel well as its comes painted and chips eventually, I tried everything that was out that prices ranging from $300-$650! I needed sheets of ABS Plastics to use in building a center console for my 1972 Nova. It was easy to work with and very easy to cut. In fact, I used an ordinary utility knife to score and snap the pieces. I also liked the fact that you could use either side of the plastic - the smooth or textured sides.

Also helpful were the guide lines that could be used to assist in cutting straight lines. These sheets were exactly what I needed. I would definitely recommend this product.
